The partition head of wall detail “A” on 1/A-605 indicate that drywall goes 6” above ceiling and metal framing goes to the deck. The Head Condition and Default Partition in the Legend on A-605 says B32 is to go 6” above highest adjacent ceiling. Please advise what wall types go 6” above ceiling and what wall types go to the deck. Similarly, detail 2/A-301 shows the wall dividing rooms T.01 and T.06 not going to the deck.
Drawing A-105 near column line 20 indicates this wall as 5S-U / ---, a full height partition as indicated on 1/A-605. Please advise what wall type goes there.

A-601, A132, and 09 29 00 Section 3.4.1
The paint spec section requires surfaces with eggshell, semi gloss or gloss paint to receive level 5 drywall finish. Many rooms in the finish plans call for paints P1-P4 which would then require level 5 drywall finish. Level 5 finishes are normally reserved for walls with critical natural lighting conditions or "wall wash" lighting fixtures. Neither of these conditions appear to be present. Please verify if Level 5 finishes are required.

Specifications do not require a specific proprietary product be used. Bid per
IFB.

Para 1.2.6 Spec Section 26 42 14
Para 1.2.6 of Spec Section 26 42 14 lists the number of magnesium anodes to be installed with fire hydrants, along pipe under concrete slabs, on valves, on metallic pipe component or section and on connectors or change in direction devices. This section seems to apply to installing anodes on metallic pipe/fittings installed in a non-metallic piping system. Are the same number of anodes required for each identified item plus addtional anodes to protect the metallic main run of pipe, if the main run of pipe is metallic and bonded? or can these items be protected by inclusion in a magnesium anode cathodic protection system designed for the metallic main run pipe and these items? Refer to note #3 on ES-101.
Are there any soil resistivity survey test results available to assist in the design of cathodic protection systems for other items not included in the referenced listing, such as for the gas main and main run of metallic water pipe?
Soil Resistivity tests are not available. Refer to Section 26 42 14 for requirements in this regard.
Also, refer to note #3 on ES- 101 for pipes requiring cathodic protection.

Reference Note 16 on CU-101. This note requires the Contractor to hire BGE to furnish and install the new gas lines for the project. BGE will not give construction costs until an Application for service is received. Has the Governement made the Application to BGE? We will not be able to get Construction costs from BGE in time to include in our bid. Please delete this requirement (the Contractor is to include trenching and backfill only) or specify an allowance to be included in the Contractor's bid for BGE's portion of the work.

It is stated that, "Polishing shall be a dry diamond method with a machine capable of a grinding pressure of 675 or more. The grinder shall be connected to a vacuum system with HEPA filtration." A vacuum that has HEPA filtration only means that it will filter particulate debris that it "actually collects" to the HEPA specification. There are no vacuums currently on the market for grinding concrete that has the ability to "lift and contain" the heavy particulate generated during the initial grinding stages of the polishing process. To help reduce possible silica exposure to workers and other trades from the initial grinding stages can a contractor use a wet method for the initial grinding, then switch to a dry method at which point the available vacuum systems on the market are able to lift and contain the particulate debris? See Amendment No. 0004
It is stated, "The system shall be capable of meeting the following performance requirements: Floor Flatness: 45 Minimum." Floor Flatness is dictated by the contractor placing and finishing the concrete. Small aggregate exposure has been specified as the desired cut. Aggregate placement will vary in depth from one place to the next throughout the slab. These two variables are going to affect the finished floor flatness of the polished surface. To what extent is the polishing contractor going to be held to a 45 minimum floor flatness and a uniform exposure of small aggregate? See Amendment No. 0004

230800 page 2 item 1.3.2 indicates that Contractor shall provide documentation that Cx work meets LEED EA Credit 3, Enhanced Cx. However, this is not possible due to hiring CxA after design process is completed, and this credit is marked as “No” in the LEED NC
2.2 checklist of specification section 013329. Please clarify.
230800 Item 3.3
Indicates the entire TAB report shall be included in the final Commissioning Report.
This is not normal practice and the TAB report can be very large. Can the TAB Verification Report be included while the full TAB report is left as a separate document?
230800 Item 1.3.2
Items states that "Formal LEED certification is not required. It also states "Provide documentation for as many LEED credits as possible to support LEED silver certification of the project". Please clarify whether or not project is pursuing LEED certification and why LEED credit documentation is required if project is not seeking LEED certification?

1.1.1 Project Description
The work includes construction of an approximately 99,147 square foot facility for the Joint SATCOM Engineering Center (JSEC) and all related site and utility work. This project is part of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) and Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) DoD initiatives.
The single story structure houses four laboratories, an administrative area, and support spaces served by a major east-west corridor that traverses the length of the building. A secondary north-south corridor links support spaces to the labs and provides access to hardstands sited to the south of the building required for antenna locations and building access.
Parking is provided on the east and west sides of the building, while access and deliveries are accommodated from the north. Other site elements include, hardstands, walkways, landscaping, security fencing, utilities, and storm water management.
Work also includes demolition of existing abandoned Building 3070 B located on the project site. Building, site and utility demolition and removal and some utility salvage is required.
A LEED certifiable rating of Silver is being pursued for this project.
Option 1 is the effort required to take the project from LEED Silver Certifiable, to LEED Silver Certified. This facility has been designed in accordance with UFC 4-010-01: DoD Minimum Antiterrorism Standards for Buildings.
