QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

1. QUESTION: Is there any documentation available regarding the inclusion of access panels for horizontal ductwork in the paperwork concerning the Grease Exhaust Systems?

According to NFPA regulations, there should be an access panel provided every 10 feet of horizontal ductwork.

ANSWER: Facility drawings that annotate access panels are available, but not listed in the Technical Exhibits. The design of the facility ensured that all regulations were met during the design and build of the Grease Exhaust Systems. Drawings available can be obtained at DPW, Engineering Division. Please contact Mr. Troy Long at (580) 442-8570 or Mr. James Diamond at (580) 442-3898.

2. QUESTION: Additionally, we would like to inquire about the level of accessibility to the horizontal ductwork.

For example, if the building has a drop ceiling, accessing the ductwork by removing ceiling tiles would be relatively easy. However, if there is no access to any horizontal ductwork through the ceiling, that specific section of ductwork would remain inaccessible.

ANSWER: All areas are accessible by removing ceiling tiles. The access panel for one location is accessible via catwalk that has ladder access.
