PWS 1.6.9.1 CLARIFICATION
Question:
Will the Government please clarify the revised wording in PWS 1.6.9.1? It currently states “The government will accept a M.S. degree in STEM from a formal higher education institution with 3 years of experience in lieu of the ABET-accredited STEM with certifications or a B.S. degree in STEM from a formal higher education institution with 5 years of experience and certifications.” Is it the Government’s intention to require the certifications in PWS
1.6.9 if the candidate holds an M.S. degree, or to require them only if the candidate holds a B.S. degree?
The current wording makes it appear that the requirement for certifications is removed if the candidate holds an M.S., and we just want to ensure this is what the Government meant.
Answer:
The contractor must have the required certifications in 1.6.9 in addition to a M.S. degree in STEM or B.S. Degree in STEM. The previous question asked if we would lower the degree requirement from M.S. to B.S. and we did but required the contractor to have more experienced for the lower degree. The certifications is still a requirement.
