About this file
This document is a Clarifications in Response to Q&A for Solicitation W911QY25RA026, dated 18 September 2025, for a Bldg1 Third Floor A303/Hallway/3 Office Renovation project. The document provides two specific clarifications for the renovation project: first, regarding ceiling tile replacement in office 303, contractors are instructed to replace 2ft x 2ft square fissured texture ceiling tiles and have the option to either paint or replace the metal ceiling suspension grid to white; second, all active switches and thermostats must be recessed inside walls, with non-active surface-mounted switches and thermostats to be removed and disposed.
The solicitation is associated with W911QY (a U.S. Army contracting identifier), suggesting this is a U.S. Army facility renovation project. The clarifications provide precise technical guidance for contractors, addressing specific details about ceiling and electrical fixture treatments to ensure consistent renovation standards. The document serves to eliminate potential ambiguity in the original solicitation and provide clear implementation instructions for the renovation work.

Clarifications in Response to Q&A for Solicitation W911QY25RA026
Bldg1 Third Floor A303/Hallway/3 Office Renovation
Clarifications Question 1: Please clarify if in office 303 the whole ceiling system including tiles and grid needs to be replaced or does only the tiles need to be replaced, and grid painted/extended?
Clarifications Answer 1:
From the SOW “…Replace the ceiling tiles in room A303, 2ft x 2ft square with fissured texture (type XII, form 2, pattern E, fire Class A), re-use the existing light fixtures and paint white the metal ceiling suspension grid (gloss level 1 (flat).”
However, if feasible, the contractor is allowed to replace the metal grid to white color instead of painting the grid.
Clarifications Question 2: Could you please confirm if the switches and thermostats should remain mounted on the wall surface, matching the existing condition, rather than being recessed inside the walls?
Clarifications Answer 2:
All active switches and thermostats shall be recessed inside the walls. Non-active switches and thermostats mounted over the wall shall be removed and disposed.
