About this file

This document is a Questions & Answers (Q&A) addendum to Solicitation W911N226FA008, providing clarification on contract repair pricing and authorization procedures. The Q&A addresses how contractors should handle repairs under and over $500, specifically stating that all repairs except LPS pole replacements should be included in the unit pricing (CLIN X001). For LPS pole replacements, which require significant work, the government has established a separate CLIN (X003) to reduce pricing risk for contractors. Repairs exceeding $500 require verbal authorization prior to proceeding, and the government has provided historical documentation to help offerors develop a firm fixed price for inspections and repairs.

SOLICITATION W911N226FA008

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Q: Our understanding is that Section 5.3 Parts/Materials outlines that repairs that do not exceed $500 should be included in the unit pricing.

Please provide information related to how to estimate for repairs (labor and material) that exceed $500. Should this be included in the unit pricing or will these repairs be submitted as separate quotes?

A: Section 5.3 only references that repairs over the amount of $500 require verbal authorization prior to proceeding. Any and all repairs should be included in the unit pricing other than LPS pole replacements. Due to the significant work required to replace an LPS pole, the Government has incorporated CLIN X003. This CLIN will reduce pricing risk under CLIN X001 for contractors in the rare case a pole needs replaced. The Government provided historical documentation to all offerors to aid them in providing a firm fixed price under CLIN X001 for inspections and repairs.
