Cladding made from fiber-cement board that does not contain asbestos fibers; complies with ASTM C 1186, Type A, Grade II; is classified as noncombustible when tested according to ASTM E 136;
and has a flame-spread index of 25 or less when tested according to ASTM E 84. Provide a water resistive barrier under panel systems and install in accordance with manufacturers recommendations, accessories and system components. Panel system must be a horizontal siding pattern. Texture: Rough sawn, factory primed. Basis of design: Nichiha VintageWood, color Cedar, wood plank texture, mounting system accessories and components.

DPW RESPONSE: Yes.
87. We here at CWS still see problems with the new Amendment concerning the new equipment schedule see attached. The new equipment list says the new furnaces will have very low BTU output on the heating coil, (It’s not a heating coil it is a heat exchanger). Gas furnaces of that size that will put out the required CFM will have a much larger BTU rating and we haven’t found any manufacture that makes those units in a 3 phase 460 volt (maybe the furnaces should be 110 volt single phase as is common and the BTU ratings will be 60,000 to 100,000 ). The outside condensing units called for are listed with a 13 SEER ratings which haven’t be produced in a single phase 220 volt in years. (They can go to a 3 phase unit and get 13 SEER but if they stay with single phase the units will be 15 to 17 SEER. Also the electric plans do not reflect wiring as will be necessary for the new equipment schedule.
DPW RESPONSE: Your points are valid. For the type of furnace required, the blower fan drive should be single phase with a low voltage. I will change the power-supply information in the AHU schedule in M- 601 accordingly, which should allow you to find furnaces that can satisfy the given CFM and static pressure values. It is understood that the minimum heating capacities for these furnaces will far exceed what is required. As for the condensers, they should be single phase for this application. The given SEER values are the minimum values required by ASHRAE 90.1, but may be exceeded.
