MH-47G/MH-60M Desktop Trainer (DTT)/Cockpit Academic Procedural Tool (CAPT)
Purpose/Description:
The CAAS DTT is a software based tool intended for classroom training and integration into the 160th SOAR(A) designated mission planners via CD or DVD. The DTT provides system familiarization of version
7.5 CAAS Software to 160th SOAR(A) pilots. The DTT familiarizes pilots with CAAS CDU/MFD page functionality (layout and manipulation) and CDU/MFD page navigation. The DTT is reconfigurable between the aircraft configurations of the MH-47G and MH-60M (DAP and Assault). The DTT supports both initial training associated with Green Platoon, as well as refresher training for current 160th SOAR(A) pilots.
The Cockpit Academic Procedure Tool (CAPT) is designed to support/reinforce classroom avionics or maintenance training for the MH47 and MH60 aircraft. The CAPT provides representative look and feel of actual aircraft hardware, but utilizing lower cost, COTS substitutes to replicate the functionality of the physical hardware. Designed to support operator qualification, refresher and sustainment training.
The CAPT is designed to support/enhance classroom avionics or maintenance training by replicating either pilot or co-pilot configurations where familiarization and muscle memory is desired. Each CAPT is contained in a deployable Pelican case. The CAPT is modular in nature, designed to attach to any desktop and allows for height and display angle adjustment to suit individual needs. The MFDs and center console clamp, via spring loaded clamp, directly to the T-bar assembly.
CAPT Major Components/Systems (per station):

Universal Mission Simulator (UMS)
Purpose:
Provide UAS operators with a high-fidelity training experience for individual, crew, and collective training for piloting Shadow, Gray Eagle, and Hunter UAVs.
Description:
The UMS incorporates multifunctional software approaches to provide UAS operators with a high-fidelity training experience for individual, crew, and collective training for piloting Shadow, Gray Eagle, and Hunter UAVs. In addition to a portable classroom, each simulation setup replicates a full GCS shelter with one-seat, two-seat, and three-seat configurations.

Simulation Accident Investigation Support Assets
The Simulation Accident Investigation Support Assets located in Wolcott and Feistner Halls are used to assist in accident investigations.
Description:
There are variety of simulation tools to assist in accident investigations. Incidents can be reviewed and played back in the individual CMS (except the LASAR) and in standalone accident investigation systems. CMS playback is limited in regard to individual specific parameters and gives a MACRO playback capability from the cockpit perspective. The standalone system(s) allow for a more detailed analysis of all the available VADR parameters coupled with an external 3D viewing capability; this gives an external 3D model perspective over custom created geo-specific terrain of the incident with 2D graphical GUIs of all relevant parameters to help better pin point areas of incident that may give insight to possible causation. Playback screen can be configured with required screens and saved off to media for investigation and debrief purposes. Simulation data and products are the catalyst for follow on higher quality products from the SRA and DBPS that is then given to TDSC to produce professional quality debrief media products.
The accident investigation systems consist of:
MH-47 and MH-60 CMS VADR playback in each CMS (CDB JIT will be used to support areas of specific incidents).
Standalone Accident Investigation System o SVD 3D scene (Terrain Authoring Tool resides in DBPS for Terrain Production) o Total Parametric Data 2D Graphical Analysis o Interactive 2D Map and Approach Plate o Ability to customize screens as needed o Movie capture software for take away debrief product
Second Generation Standalone Accident Investigation System Beta Phase (Veraxx) o SVD 3D scene (CDB JIT will have to be used to support areas of specific incidents) o Limited Parametric Data (3-6 Parameters via Strip Charts) o Interactive 2D Map and Approach Plate o No ability to customize screens as needed o No movie capture software for take away debrief product
RUNTIME X-IO Storage Area Network (SAN)
Purpose/ Description:
The XIO SAN (RUNTIME SAN) provides 200TB of storage capacity. Visual databases, map data, and simulation support files are stored on it for all networked TADSS. The SAN is also used as a back-up repository for the TADSS.
Just-In-Time (JIT) Publisher CDB 3.0
Aechelon Technology’s Publisher 7 CDB 3.0 application and hardware (commonly referred to as Just-In-Time publisher (JIT)) is a CDB 3.0 to Aechelon database runtime format conversion tool. The JIT converts and installs a CDB 3.0 database for use on Aechelon Image Generators. The Publisher is built from commercial off-the-shelf components.
FSIMNET
FSIMNET is the backbone of the 160th’s flight simulation network providing connectivity between all TADSS.
It consists of layer 2 and 3 switches, multi-mode optical fiber, single-mode optical fiber, and 10 gig laser-optimized 50/125 micrometer multi-mode optical fiber (OM4). FSIMNET is an enclosed network that spans the three buildings that contain the TADSS. Typical traffic for FSIMNET is terrain database and map data requests from the SAN by the TADSS and interoperability between the MRETS and CMS’s.
