INDUSTRY DAY
Lake Washington Ship Canal
Large Lock Center Gate Replacement Seattle, WA
***NOTE: Due to COVID requirements and social distancing, group size for in-person attendance is limited to ten (10) people total and we ask that only personnel essential to understanding the task attend in-person. The tour of the lock chamber will consist of two groups of five (5) people total. Vendors will be required to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), per CDC guidelines and Executive Order, the entire time they are on Federal property (even if outdoors). Additional information on the Executive Order on Protecting the Federal Workforce and Requiring Mask-wearing can be found here: https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/presidential-actions/2021/01/20/executive-order-protecting-the-federal-workforce-and-requiring-mask-wearing/.
Participants will provide their own PPE, wash their hands when they get to the project, keep six-foot social distance, use a cloth face mask, and not attend if they feel sick or have a fever over 100.4 degrees.
Required PPE for touring the lock chamber, per OSHA guidelines, includes the following: steel toed rubber boots, a hard hat, a high visibility vest, and protective eyeglasses. It tends to be dark and wet in the lock chamber, so a flashlight and waterproof jacket can be useful. Access to the lock chamber will occur via scaffolding, routinely set up by the project for lock outages.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Contract Specialist Vincent Daniels at
(206) 764-6573 or via email at vincent.e.daniels@usace.army.mil.
Draft plans and specs will be available for your review on or about March 17, 2021. Files will be available through AMRDEC SAFE. In order to gain access, you will need to provide your email address to the contract specialist listed above.
Thank you for your interest and we look forward to your participation!
