Communicate that there is less than 15 months from Contract Award to delivery of PQT vehicles for Gov’t testing.
Major Required Tests Production Verification Test (PVT) Location: Aberdeen Test Center, APG, MD Subtests:
Vehicle Performance Testing Primarily conducted to determine compliance with performance requirements of performance specification Reliability/Maintainability Testing Performed to determine conformance to reliability and maintainability requirements of the specification Conducted in accordance with the Operational Mode Summary/Mission Profile (OMS/MP) OMS/MP also specifies terrain mix (percentage of each terrain type the vehicle will be tested on) Events scored by an Army Failure Definition/Scoring Criteria (FD/SC)
UNCLASSIFIED
Major Required Tests Production Verification Test (PVT)(contd.)
Testing Cycle Performance testing (5 days/week- day shift) R&M testing (5 days/week – 2 shifts – day & night) Distribution of Data:
R&M events will be documented via Test Incident Reports (TIRs) Preliminary data often available prior to TIR release Vehicles will be available for contractor inspection (subject to Test Director/test needs) Significant Performance & Safety Issues also documented via TIR Failure Analysis and Corrective Action Reports (FACAR) Issue resolution will be documented via the FACAR Process Failed parts (when removed from a vehicle) will be available for contractor analysis Approval of a FACAR does not necessarily end the corrective action process Additional failures of an updated part may cause the FACAR to be reopened Follow on actions in the design or hardware update process may also result in reopening a closed FACAR

Production Verification Test (PVT)(contd.)
R&M Scoring Process Testers will provide a preliminary score Army Scoring Members (PM/Evaluator/User) will review and update scores as necessary Army FD/SC provides criteria Scoring may be online, via telecon, or via face-to-face meetings Scoring may be reopened if additional information is uncovered The contractor may provide relevant information to inform the scoring voters but are not allowed to be present during the actual scoring process/meeting
R&M Assessment Process The Government will attempt to estimate the impact of configuration changes on system reliability and maintainability characteristics and assess the scored data Assessment may be via telecon or via face-to-face meetings Assessment results normally are released by published meeting minutes Assessment is normally a one time even after the completion of test The contractor may provide relevant information to inform the assessment voters but are not allowed to be present during the actual assessment meeting

Equipment Modifications During the course of test, it may become necessary to modify the test vehicles if the vehicles are failing live fire or experiencing performance or reliability issues.
Modifications require a Test Work Authorization Document (TWAD).
TWADs are initiated by the contractor and approved by the government TWADs describe:
Nature of the change Test vehicles affected by the change Description of the changed or replaced parts Process for installation and/or installation instructions Approval of the TWAD does not constitute approval of the change for production An unsuccessful TWAD may result in another TWAD or another form of engineering change (if insufficient test time exists to prove out the fix

Live Fire Test (LFT) Location: Aberdeen Test Center, APG, MD 5 Shots are planned Contractor will be able to attend shots and review equipment damage Contractor will be informed of each shot’s success/failure
Updates to equipment hardware may be required to successfully complete LFT Configuration changes for LFT will also require updates to other test assets at PVT Likewise, if a PVT “fix” is developed and it impacts the Live Fire Test, those changes must be added to the LFT vehicles on subsequent shots Significant changes to vehicle configuration (whether induced by Live Fire or PVT issues) may require retesting of updated LFT vehicles

Logistics Demonstration Purpose:
DODI 5000.02 requires that analysis, T&E results, or independent reviews confirm the adequacy of the proposed maintenance plan and programmed support resources to meet objectives for peacetime readiness and wartime employment. It also requires that the ability to support any materiel be demonstrated before the materiel is placed in the hands of the Soldier. The Logistic Demonstration (LD) is conducted to confirm that support resources and tasks developed to sustain the materiel will function as intended and to ensure that the gaining unit has the logistics capability to achieve IOC. The LD is conducted on a production representative item.
Goals of the LD are to evaluate:
Supportability Maintenance Planning Product Support Package (spares, TMs, training package, special tools and, TMDE) MANPRINT related to operator and maintainer tasks
