Spec section 01 10 10 paragraph 6.3.4.4
Specification section 01 10 10 paragraph 6.3.4.4 states that “The pavement section for the asphalt running track shall be in accordance with UFC 4‐740‐02”.UFC 4‐740‐02 Table 5‐8 lists the surface materials of the track as “a first‐class, full‐pour polyurethane synthetic surface, including all necessary sub‐structure and drainage to obtain long‐life durability, pursuant to the guidelines of \1\ NCAA Cross Country/Track and Field Rules. /1/ The minimum thickness of the track surface must be ½ in. (13 mm) and the surface color will be determined by the installation”. Other section of the design requirements imply that the track is an “asphalt running track” and does not refer to the ½” full‐pour polyurethane synthetic surface. /1/ The minimum thickness of the track surface must be ½
in. (13 mm) and the surface color will be determined by the installation”. Other section of the design requirements imply that the track is an “asphalt running track” and does not refer to the ½” full‐pour polyurethane synthetic surface. 1. Is the ½” full‐pour polyurethane synthetic surface required for this project? 2. Is there a preferred color selection? 3. No pavement section showing minimal thicknesses of asphalt or base material is supplied in UFC 4‐740‐02. Is this to be determined by the designer of record or are there minimum Base requirements that must be met? 4. Please confirm only the pavement section must comply with requirements of UFC 4‐470‐02 and no other requirements such as dimensions, markings or other requirements as stated per \1\ NCAA Cross Country/Track and Field Rules as many of these requirements conflict with what is shown in the 35% drawings and ANGH 32‐ 1084 paragraph 12.5
1. 1/2" Full‐pour polyurethane synnthetic surface is not required for this project. 2. Not applicable as 1/2" full‐pour polyurethane synthetic surface is not required. 3.
Contractors are to follow American Sports Builders Association's (ASBA) asphalt guidelines for minimum thickness. 4. Contractors are to follow American Sports Builders Association's (ASBA) asphalt guidelines for construction.

Statement of Work Section 5 paragraph 5.3 states “Establish an acceptable stockpile location for soil to be reutilized as common fill. No Soil is allowed to be removed from the site due to potential pesticide contamination.” . It is assumed that if OPI #2 is awarded then the in‐field area could be used as the stockpile location. Specification section 01 10 10 paragraph 3.2.5 States:“There are no designated borrow material areas located on the Bradley ANG Base installation. See attached sample specification Excavation and Management of Contaminated Soils in Appendix 4.” If this item is not awarded, will the Base provide an acceptable stockpile area for the pesticide contaminated fill?
Soil stockpile location is shown as marked area on Base Map.

The period of performance is 180 Days. With the anticipated start date in October and the design period of several weeks, virtually the entire construction phase of the project will be in winter months.
Will the ANG consider and alternative period of performance to accommodate the construction during the construction season as most of the work on this project will be weather sensitive?
The PoP will be extended to 270 days.
The area of construction for the running track is located in Natural Diversity area (NDDB) where there may be protected state listed species. Can you confirm that clearance has already been received to proceed with construction in this area.
Awaiting final clearance from DEEP, but there are no known protected state listed species in the construction area.
Will any vehicles or equipment be accessing the track for maintenance, snowplowing or any other purposes? What are the weights of these vehicles if applicable?
A Kubota SVL90 vertical lift track loader with a snow box (approx. 12,000 lbs) and a Ford F‐450 with a leaf box (approx.
17,500 lbs total) with a hitch mounted leaf vaccuum on a trailer (approx. 3500 lbs alone) will be the heaviest maintenance vehicles that will access the track.
On page 14 of the Solicitation under the requirements for Volume 2, Part 2, section 2.5.3.4 says to prepare no more than 5 of the Exhibit A’s; however the Exhibit A form provided says to prepare no more than 3. How many Exhibit A’s should be completed for the Solicitation?
Prepare no more than 5 of the Exhibit A's.
Should Volume 2, Part 2 be included in the same binder as Part 1 or is the intent to have a separate binder for the past performance?
Yes it should be included. There should only be two binders;
Volume 1 and Volume 2.
The Solicitation for the project requires a Bid Bond to be submitted with the proposal, however I am unable to find the percentage required for the bid bond.
The amount of the bid guarantee shall be 20 percent of the total proposal price or $3,000,000.00, whichever is less.
Provision 52.228‐1 has been extended to full text in solicitation amendment 0001 which details the bid bond requirements.
