Spec section 01 10 10 paragraph 6.3.4.4

Specification section 01 10 10 paragraph 6.3.4.4 states that “The pavement section for the asphalt running track shall be in accordance with UFC 4‐740‐02”.UFC 4‐740‐02 Table 5‐8 lists the surface materials of the track as “a first‐class, full‐pour polyurethane synthetic surface, including all necessary sub‐structure and drainage to obtain long‐life durability, pursuant to the guidelines of \1\ NCAA Cross Country/Track and Field Rules. /1/ The minimum thickness of the track surface must be ½ in. (13 mm) and the surface color will be determined by the installation”. Other section of the design requirements imply that the track is an “asphalt running track” and does not refer to the ½” full‐pour polyurethane synthetic surface. /1/ The minimum thickness of the track surface must be ½

in. (13 mm) and the surface color will be determined by the installation”. Other section of the design requirements imply that the track is an “asphalt running track” and does not refer to the ½” full‐pour polyurethane synthetic surface. 1. Is the ½” full‐pour polyurethane synthetic surface required for this project? 2. Is there a preferred color selection? 3. No pavement section showing minimal thicknesses of asphalt or base material is supplied in UFC 4‐740‐02. Is this to be determined by the designer of record or are there minimum Base requirements that must be met? 4. Please confirm only the pavement section must comply with requirements of UFC 4‐470‐02 and no other requirements such as dimensions, markings or other requirements as stated per \1\ NCAA Cross Country/Track and Field Rules as many of these requirements conflict with what is shown in the 35% drawings and ANGH 32‐ 1084 paragraph 12.5

1. 1/2" Full‐pour polyurethane synnthetic surface is not required for this project. 2. Not applicable as 1/2" full‐pour polyurethane synthetic surface is not required. 3.

Specification section 01 10 10 paragraph 3.2.5 States:“There are no designated borrow material areas located on the Bradley ANG Base installation. See attached sample specification Excavation and Management of Contaminated Soils in Appendix 4.” If this item is not awarded, will the Base provide an acceptable stockpile area for the pesticide contaminated fill?

Yes, soil stockpile location will be outside of the track area.

3 Is an on ground as‐built survey required? Yes, as‐built is required 4 Is soil sample and analysis required for suspected pesticide contaminated soils? Not unless topsoil must be moved off site.

The period of performance is 180 Days. With the anticipated start date in October and the design period of several weeks, virtually the entire construction phase of the project will be in winter months.

Will the ANG consider and alternative period of performance to accommodate the construction during the construction season as most of the work on this project will be weather sensitive?

The PoP will be extended to 270 days.
