3.9 TEST RESULTS

A. Test documentation shall be provided in electronic format within three weeks after the completion of the project. The files shall be clearly marked with the words "Project Test Documentation", the project name, and the date of completion (month and year). The results shall include a record of test frequencies, cable type, conductor pair and cable (or outlet), measurement direction, reference setup, and crew member name(s). The test equipment name, manufacturer, model number, serial number, software version and last calibration date will also be provided at the end of the document. Unless the manufacturer specifies a more frequent calibration cycle, an annual calibration cycle is anticipated on all test equipment used for this installation. The test document shall detail the test method used and the specific settings of the equipment during the test as well as the software version being used in the field test equipment.

B. The field test equipment shall meet the requirements of ANSI/TIA-568-C.2 including applicable

TSB's and amendments.

C. Printouts generated for each cable by the wire (or fiber) test instrument shall be submitted as part of the documentation package. Alternately, the telecommunications contractor may furnish this information in electronic form. These shall contain the electronic equivalent of the test results as defined by the bid specification and be of a format readable from Microsoft Word. Or PDF format.

D. When repairs and re-tests are performed, the problem found and corrective action taken shall be noted, and both the failed and passed test data shall be documented.

E. UTP Cable Acceptance Tests:

1. The installer shall test the UTP cabling system in accordance with TIA/EIA TSB67, TIA/EIA TSB95, and ANSI/TIA -568-C.2. Acceptance tests of the following will be accomplished, Wire map, Length, Attenuation, Near End Cross Talk (NEXT), Power Level Equal Level Far-End Cross Talk (ELFEXT), Delay and delay skew, Return loss Power sum crosstalk (PSNEXT and PSELFEXT). These tests will be accomplished on all links installed and a detailed report generated, signed and submitted for approval.

F. Fiber Optic Cable Acceptance Test:

1. Fiber Optic Cable test requirements are defined in ANSI/TIA/EIA-526-7. And IEC 61280- 4-5.

2. Tests if horizontal 62.5um multimode fiber optic cable shall consist of end-to-end attenuation testing 850nm or 1300nm to ensure predicted system performance. (either 850nm or 1300nm can be utilized for testing due to minimal distance of the fiber link) ANSI/TIA/EIA-568-B.1 has established acceptance values for multimode (50/125 µm and 62.5/125 µm) and singlemode links for both the horizontal and backbone. These tests will be accomplished on all links installed and a detailed report generated, signed and submitted to COR for approval.

G. Outside Plant Fiber Optic Cable Acceptance Test:

1. Continuity tests will be conducted on all outside copper cable installed to include;

continuity to remote end, shorts between any two or more conductors, transposed pairs, reversed pairs, split pairs, shield continuity and ground conductor. These tests will be

3.10 AS-BUILT DRAWINGS

A. The drawings are to include cable routes and outlet locations. Outlet locations shall be identified by their sequential number as defined elsewhere in this document. Numbering, icons, and drawing conventions used shall be consistent throughout all documentation provided. The Owner will provide floor plans in PDF and electronic (.dwg, AutoCADD) formats on which as-built construction information can be added. These documents will be modified accordingly by the telecommunications contractor to denote as-built information defined above and returned to the Owner.

B. The Contractors shall annotate the base drawings and return a hard copy (same plot size as originals) and electronic copy in same forms provided.

3.11 WARRANTY

A. The Contractor shall warrant that the materials and installation supplied under this Specification are new and have no defect arising from design, materials, application, or workmanship or from any act or omission of the Contractor for a period of two years (2) after acceptance of the system. All materials shall be installed in such a manner so as not to void any Manufacturers Warranties. All Manufacturers Warranty materials shall be turned over to owner and shall remain in effect as applicable.

B. The Owner shall promptly notify the Contractor in writing of any claims arising under the

Contractor’s warranty. Upon receipt of such notice, the Contractor shall forthwith repair or replace the defective goods or parts thereof without cost.

C. The contractor shall provide a two-year warranty on the physical installation.

3.12 FINAL ACCEPTANCE & SYSTEM CERTIFICATION

A. Completion of the installation, in-progress and final inspections, receipt of the test and as-built documentation, and successful performance of the cabling system for a two-week period will constitute acceptance of the system.
