PSXE 222005 Repair Building 90100 for Blue Horizons W50S98-24-B-0004 Q&A 19 August 2024
1. On drawing A7.1 detail 1, A7.1 under counter icemaker is listed as well as detail 2, A7.1 which lists a coffee maker. Are the purchases of these items included or not included in this requirement?
The ice maker and coffee maker will be furnished under a separate contract. Contractors are not to purchase these items.
2. Drawing A6.1 detail 3 A6.1 item D3 is a sliding glass door. Please provide a drawing detail and or manufacturer basis of design. Also, is the door manual or electric operated?
The basis of design is Kawneer 990 sliding doors and they are manual.
3. Drawing A0.2 detail 2 A0.2 lists accessible signs/pictograms. Sign locations note 1 and 2 is not clear. Note three speaks of the Building Directory. Is a new directory to be provided or is the current one to be updated? Also, there is not a sign schedule listed for these items or other room numbers for the facility.
These signs are part of our general notes and do not apply to this scope of work.
4. Drawing A7.1 detail 3 A7.1 requires metal lettering – what type of metal? Are the letters to be painted, if so what colors? Are they to be standoff type or require a depth?
Provide powder coated aluminum letters ½” thick on standoffs.
5. Drawing A1.1 entry vestibule requires an applied floor graphic. What are the size, color and material expected to be used? Does this overlay on the LVT?
This is an applied graphic made of high traffic rated polyvinyl. It should be blue to match the provided logo below. The rough dimensions are 7’x7’.
6. Specifications lists Division 33 11 00 – Water Distribution System, Division 33 30 00 – Sanitary Sewer System and Division 33 40 00 – Storm Drainage Facilities; however, there are not any Civil Drawings. Please provide clarification.
Please disregard Water Distribution and Storm Drainage Facilities Specifications unless work requires
7. Drawing A4.2 detail 1 A4.2, depicts a mural wall, is this to be provided in the requirement? If so, please provide detail/drawing.
Provide price for custom printed vinyl wall covering for noted walls.
8. Drawing E3.1 Communications Specification – this drawing references complete system of rough-in; however, there are no communications drawings. Only reference made to communications is for existing outlets on E1.2 to remain. Is there a new system to be put in place?
See attached the complete Drawing Set with Comm Drawings IT2.1, IT4.1, IT4.2, and IT5.1. Additionally, Please find attached the Specification Section 27 01 00 which accompanies the Drawing sheets.
9. During review of this project, it has been noted there are no Fire Protection Drawings. Is this correct?
Correct. The existing building is not sprinklered, and it is not required to be sprinklered per 2018 IBC 903.2.
10. The door and frame schedule on sheet A6.1 does not list the Hardware set number nor is there a hardware schedule in the specifications. We will need the hardware schedule and the door and frame schedule showing which set goes in what door.
Please find attached the Hardware specification and the Door and Frame Schedule.
11. There is a note on sheet A6.1 General Glazing Notes that states “Provide Window Shades To Match Base Standard Coordinate with COR. There is no specifications for window shades and we will need the specifications to properly price window shades.
Sunshadow, 3000 Net Solar Screen Fabric. Color: Charcoal, 1% openness. Manual operation.

12. Drawing A6.1 detail 1/A6.1 elevations A and B call for curtainwall (correctly). However, there is no curtainwall specification provided. Is one available?
See attached new specification Section 08 44 14 – Glazed Aluminum Curtain Walls.
13. Views 6 and 7 on sheet 6.1 are labelled as interior storefront sections (applicable to storefront elevations E and F). The sections are shown with 1" insulated glazing, which is appropriate for exterior storefront. For interior storefront, center-set storefront with 1/4" glazing is more typical. Please clarify whether the interior storefront elevations (E and F) require 1" insulated glazing E and F should be center-set storefront with ¼” glazing.
14. The are no door hardware sets listed for the storefront doors except for paragraph 2.5 in the storefront specification. While these sets seem appropriate for exterior doors, this hardware does not seem appropriate for the interior doors (103, and 114 -118). Please clarify hardware requirements for these interior doors.
Please find attached the Hardware specification and the Door and Frame Schedule.
15. Will all 11 of the windowsills be getting matching countertop material as the wall caps and breakroom? Yes.
16. Gov’t response to pre-bid RFI #7 indicates that the proposal shall include cost for a custom vinyl wall covering for the mural wall. However, no detail of the graphic is given. Please provide a detail so that a price can be included. See attached .JPG image.
17. The spec’s reference a thermally-broken exterior storefront framing system for tinted insulated glass. There are several interior storefront frames that call for butt-glazed glass. Should we figure the same system for these openings or furnish an interior non-thermal center glazed 1-3/4” x 4-1/2” system for single glazing? Please advise. Provide non-thermal center glazed 1-3/4” x 4-1/2” system for single glazing for interior glazing.
18. The specified acoustical ceiling system is very costly. USG makes a product with a similar look called "USG Celebration Snap In Panels 2x8 Silver Satin Perforated With Acoustibond" with an estimated cost savings of 27% versus the specified system. I have attached the product data for reference. Please advise if this system can be utilized. Proposed substitution is acceptable.
19. On drawing IT4.1, the Comm Legend for AV symbols call for “INTERCONNECT YELLOW ETHERNET OUTLETS WITH 500 MHZ SHIELDED CAT SIX CABLE). But the specs, 270100 section 1.6, call for “4-pair UTP Cable: Category 6a Cable,” which is unshielded.
a. Is the Category cable shielded or unshielded?
i. Shielded CAT 6 cable is only for use as interconnected outlet cable from upper to lower outlet per Detail L5 & H5 on Sheet IT 4.1
ii. All other Ethernet cables shall be CAT 6A
b. Is Category cable 6 or 6A?
i. Shielded CAT 6 cable is only for use as interconnected outlet cable from upper to lower outlet per Detail L5 & H5 on Sheet IT 4.1
ii. All other Ethernet cables shall be CAT 6A image1.png
