GOVERNMENT RESPONSES TO BID INQUIRIES: W50S9525BA001, ADAL CORROSION CONTROL FACILITY

1. Clarification on Overhead Coiling Door 101A – Voltage and Dimensions

Could you please confirm the required operating voltage and phase for the motorized overhead coiling door specified under Section 08 33 23 – Overhead Coiling Doors, as well as the exact width and height of Door 101A, since the dimensions are not clearly indicated in the contract drawings or specifications?

Answer: Could not locate a door 101A on the drawings. Please confirm the RFI.

2. What paint product should be used on the exposed metals for all the exposed structure ceilings?

I did not see a Dryfall product and that is what product we typically use on the exposed metals when we paint, I read on page 26 section 099000, Item A, which is a Redular Paint, and it will be very expensive to use cause of the "waste factor" with the structures. Please advise if we are able to substitute for Dryfall product we typically use.

Answer: A Dryfall product for this specific application is acceptable.

3. Are there any underground tanks to be aware of at the site, i.e., like in the courtyard that was identified at the walkthrough.

Answer: HDR civil engineering sheet (CD101) indicates what was discovered during our initial survey. Will defer to SCANG for other historical knowledge of the site. If there is still some uncertainty, HDR would suggest the contractor execute their own survey for any areas needing further confirmation. There is not an underground tank in the courtyard.

4. No Locker manufacturer is stated in the “Interior Finish Legend” on sheet I102. Can you please provide a manufacturer for the lockers?

Answer: HDR defers to SCANG on preference, Gov’t to confirm. See below for a list of potential manufacturers:

a. Art Metal Products

b. DeBourgh Manufacturing

c. List Industries, Inc.

d. Lyon LLC

5. No manufacturer is noted for the Toilet Partitions in the “Interior Finish Legend” on sheet i102.
