DCFT 102008 – Repair CRF, Building 17 Pre-bid RFI’s – Set 2

Schwartz Construction Group

1. In the project file on Beta.Sam.Gov, for addendum 1, I only find drawings P601 and H601, but no actual addendum document. Are pages P601 and H601 the entirety of Addendum 1?

Addenda 1 includes sheets P601 and H601 as well as spec section 009113.1 and changes listed therein. Addenda 2 consist of only spec 009113.2 and changes listed therein. EJM/ILANG & MFlatt/Hanson

1. In the project file on Beta.Sam.Gov, I find the two pages mentioned above for addendum 1, and I find information for addendum3, but no mention of addendum 2. Is there and addendum 2?

See above for Addenda 1 and 2. Addendum 3 will be issued during the bidding based on other contractor pre-bid RFI’s. EJM/ILANG

1. In the responses to questions that have been posted to date regarding the air barrier, the response has been that the plan notes for the air barrier refer only to testing, however the scope of this project is such that the building is being stripped down to the frame, so there will be no existing air barrier left to test. If a new air barrier is to be installed and then tested at completion, a product will need to be specified. Please further clarify this item.

Refer to the revised general note on A-002 and AE-301 in addendum #3 that states, “According to UFC 3-101-01 Paragraph 3-6.3, hangar bay and maintenance bay facilities require air barrier inspection only. Contractor shall notify contracting officer when inspection is scheduled.” FSB/AMertz

1. Can the project bid date be extended? To allow more time to digest forthcoming addenda and answers to questions?

Bid date will not be extended. EJM/ILANG

Alpha Controls

1. DOAS-1 and OAP-1 – Will these units to come with a factory BACnet interface, or will the controls be field installed by Alpha Controls. Alpha can’t make any programming changes to factory supplied DDC controllers for the sequences or points lists on H-503 and H-507.

DOAS-1 shall be provided with factory supplied BACnet controller capable of providing the points and sequences on H-507.

OAP-1 shall be provided with factory supplied BACnet controller capable of providing the points and sequences on H-503.

The outdoor air temperature is required by both pieces of equipment for the referenced sequences. Outdoor air temperature sensor to be provided by controls contractor in the location shown on sheet V-201. Both units shall be enabled/disabled through the new building automation system. - Hanson/JF

2. MAU-1 – Will this unit to come with a factory BACnet interface, or will the controls be field installed by Alpha Controls. Alpha can’t make any programming changes to factory supplied DDC controllers for the sequences or points lists on H-507.

MAU-1 shall be provided with factory supplied BACnet controller capable of providing the points and sequences on H-507. - Hanson/JF

3. FCU-1 & 2 – Will these units to come with a factory BACnet interface, or will the controls be field installed by Alpha Controls. Alpha can’t make any programming changes to factory supplied DDC controllers for the sequences or points lists on H-501. The 238130.2.4.C.1 VRF system indicates the VRF FCUs are to connect with the iTouch Manager installed in the P1 building. Will a new iTouch Manager, or similar integration manager, be provided by the successful VRF contractor for P17?

FCU-1 & 2 shall be provided with factory supplied BACnet controller capable of providing the points and sequences on H-503.

Integration of building controls for P17 are not required with building P1. Specification sections 238130.2.4.B and 238130.2.4.C can be removed. - Hanson/JF

4. FCU-3, 4, 5 & 6 on H-504 indicates the units will come with a BACnet interface. Is the BACnet controller to be provide by Alpha Controls or by the unit manufacturer? The H-601 schedule and the FCU specification doesn’t mention BACnet controls to be provided by the unit manufacturer.

FCU-3, 4, 5, & 6 shall be provided with factory supplied BACnet controller capable of providing the points and sequences on H-504.

The following note shall be added to the MINI-SPLIT FAN COIL SCHEDULE and MINI-SPLIT UNIT SCHEDULE on sheet H-601: “UNIT SHALL BE EQUIPPED WITH PROGRAMMABLE DDC CONTROLLER CAPABLE OF COMMUNICATING WITH BACNET CONTROLS. REFER TO SHEET H-504 FOR ADDITIONAL REQUREMENTS”. - Hanson/JF
