About this file

This document is a Request for Information (RFI) dated 11 SEP 2025 with solicitation number W50S74-25-R-A023, focused on HVAC equipment replacement. The RFI provides answers to 25 questions regarding a project involving the replacement of Heat Pumps 3 and 8, with specific details about the scope of work. Key points include: project-related photography is authorized, the building is regularly occupied, and the chillers can be shut down for the duration of the project. The replacement work encompasses demolition, mechanical, electrical, controls, testing, and balancing, with the requirement to tie into the existing Automated Logic DDC control system.

The document clarifies that no structural design changes will be engineered, no units on the ground will be relocated or touched, and not all 8 units require replacement. The project involves replacing specific heat pumps with new condensing units on the rooftop, with a floor drain available on site. No engineering drawings will be required, and the contractor is not responsible for waste removal. The existing building automation system is Automated Logic DDC, and the project will involve integrating the new equipment with this system.

Yes. See image below.

3. Will the result of eddy current testing affect the SOW?

No.

4. How long can the chillers be shut down for?

For the duration of the project.

5. Where is the closest drain to the chillers?

Floor drain on site. Drainage causes no environmental concern.

6. Is there a drain?

Yes.

7. Is the contractor responsible for discarding waste and removal?

No.

8. Can roof pictures be provided in the RFI amendment?

Yes. Refer to the SOW. See images below.

9. Which pumps need replacement?

3 and 8. See images below.

10. Could the scope be clarified in conjunction with the previous 2275 HVAC requirement?

Refer to the SOW.

11. Are units on the ground being moved to the roof?

No. There is no relocation.

12. Do all 8 units need replacement?

No.

13. Will a new structural design be engineered?

No.

14. Is there a dedicated power source for exhaust?

Packaged units do not have exhaust.

15. Are the units on ground being touched?

No.

16. Is the mechanical room being used for air handling?

Not relevant to SOW.

17. Is the building occupied?

Building is regularly occupied.

18. Is the on-ground condenser working?

Yes. Not relevant to SOW.

19. Safety concern over beehive on roof?

Follow all applicable safety rules and regulations.

20. Could the units be physically numbered?

See attached roof plan.

21. DDC or Thermostat?

Automated logic DDC.

22. Please confirm the scope of work. It appears from the documents that the scope involves the removal of the condensing units and the yard items and the installation of the new condensing units to the rooftop.

From the PDPG252123 SOW:

-- Replace Heat Pumps 3 & 8. Work includes demolition, mechanical, electrical, controls, testing and balancing.

--Removal of condensing units & installation of new condensing units on roof top is NOT a part of this project.

23. If that is the scope, do you have structural drawings or information needed to place the condensing units onto the rooftop?

Not part of the scope.

24. Would any engineering drawings (stamped by licensed engineers) be required for the project?

No.

25. What is included with the controls scope of work and tie in? What building automation system exists to tie into?
