140th WG NCC UPS Site Visit Questions and Answers Solicitation #: W50S6V24Q0004 www.SAM.gov

Q1. Would the agency like an external MBP installed for the new UPS? This will allow the load to remain online and not shut down by the unit being isolated in the future for repair/replacement?

A1. It it’s in the budget, I think it’s in our best interest to have a bypass switch.

Q2. If an external MBP is opted for, can we mount the panel on the same wall the current UPS is on?

A2. Yes

Q3. The electrical is currently not to code as the UPS can only support a 150amp output breaker. The breaker on the output panel is oversized at 200amp. Would the agency like to reduce the breaker in the output panel to 150amp or increase the size of the UPS to support a 200amp breaker? (reducing breaker in panel will be less expensive) A3. Reducing the breaker amperage is advantageous to the government

Q4. Is the shut down/replacement to take place during normal business hours or after hours?

A4. Normal business hours; 0630-1700h

Q5. Do you want a T-intersect where the power comes into the building?

A5. If a T-intersect is necessary for a bypass switch, or an UPS installation, then yes.

Q6. What are the floor specs for load weight?

A6. Floor load weight is unknown. Reenforced floor support added at current UPS location per Ryan Dreiling / Civil Engineers Squadron

Q7. Do we need to recycle the old batteries and equipment?

A7. Yes, the old UPS equipment and 40 batteries need to be recycled per MSgt Coleman.

Q8. Do you want to add a panel bypass in the same room, near the UPS to maintain power to other panels & rooms while performing maintenance or future UPS System replacement? (Most systems come with an internal bypass to work on or replace the batteries, but no internal bypass for the system power) A8. Yes, it’s best to have a bypass to keep other services online while UPS maintenance is performed.

Q9. Can we submit pricing for both Lithium and VRLA batteries, or would you prefer us to bid only on Lithium batteries since they are the preferred option?

A9. Lithium batteries only

Q10. Should we include an External Maintenance Bypass in our bid?

A10. Yes

Q11. We would appreciate it if we could get a Single Line Diagram if available.

A 11. Working with Civil Engineers; will provide if available.
