Q&A Round 2
Question 1:
What is the concrete mix design to be for the mooring points?
Answer: Minimum strength will meet standard Elmendorf airfield specs. These can be verified with the 673 CES pavements engineer after award. Please bid based on the information available.
Question 2:
Will the government provide the moorings?
Answer: Contractor shall furnish and install moorings in accordance with the drawings provided.
Question 3:
On sheet S‐2.0/Rebar Detail Notes/1. EDGE OF RETROFIT PATCH WILL BE MINIMUM 3' FROM NEAREST JOINT IN BOTH DIRECTIONS TO REDUCE RISK FOR SYMPATHETIC CRACKS IN EXISTING SLAB. IF TIE‐DOWN MUST BE CLOSER TO JOINT, THEN EXPAND RETROFIT PATCH TO THE NEAREST JOINT. Can a layout be confirmed so that it is known if extra saw cutting, rebar, epoxy, and concrete will be needed? Or will this be handled after award?
Answer: This will be field‐verified after award.
Question 4:
Is there information that can be shared for the Standard Elmendorf Airfield Joint Specifications?
Answer: As stated in the drawings, these can be verified with the airfield manager upon award. Please bid based on the information available.
Question 5:
Please confirm if aircraft center lines are impacted that these will need repaired?
Answer: Yes, if aircraft centerlines are disturbed they are to be repaired (to include painting) to match existing.
Question 6:
Can concrete debris be disposed on base?
Answer: Contractor should bid as if concrete debris will be disposed of off‐base.
Question 7:
Will flight line driving access need to be obtained or will escorts be provided for access?
Answer: Flight line access will need to be obtained. This consists of a 30‐minute training per driver, after which access badges will be issued.
