About this file
This solicitation is for a trail reconstruction project on the Ideal Cove Trail located in the Tongass National Forest in Alaska. The project involves demolishing approximately 0.8 miles of existing boardwalk and structures and reconstructing the trail with new aggregate surfacing, boardwalk bridges, retaining logs, stone pitching, concrete and boardwalk steps. The optional item is for two aggregate surface rest areas with seating stones. Responses were due by December 15, 2021.
The solicitation was amended to eliminate the option to replace the Hill Lake Bridge and rest area and instead focus on installing two rest areas along Ideal Cove Trail. The amendment also clarified installation details for signage and addressed a question regarding gravel size. The work is to be completed between January and November 2022. The estimated price range for the base work is $500,000 to $1,000,000. The Forest Service will award to the response determined most advantageous to the government with price and technical factors considered.
