ARTICLE SP-1 SUMMARY OF WORK 9
Pinellas County is replacing an existing force main in 53rd Avenue N. from 11 Duhme Road to the east of Seminole Boulevard. This project consists of 12 the replacement of approximately 2760 LF of an existing 20-inch and 24-13 inch prestressed concrete cylinder pipe (PCCP) force main along 53rd 14 Avenue N. due to the compromised conditions of the pipe. The existing 15 force main has ruptured twice within the project limits, resulting in sewage 16 spills within the street and adjacent private properties. The proposed pipe 17 includes approximately 2,915 LF of 20-inch PVC pipe (C-900), which will 18 be a combination of PVC pipe, fusible PVC pipe and restrained joint pipe. 19 The proposed force main connects to the existing 20-inch PCCP force 20 main located in 53rd Avenue N, at approximately 100 feet east of Duhme 21 Road, and traverses east to approximately 150 feet east of Seminole 22 Boulevard, where it connects to the existing 24-inch PVC force main. The 23 installation of the proposed force main will be done via a combination of 24 open cut and horizontal directional drilling , and includes the installation of 25 multiple air-release valves throughout the project limits. 26 This project also includes restoration within the community to conditions 28 prior to construction, which includes but is but not limited to landscaping of 29 impacted areas, road milling and paving. 30

Section 380 of the Standard Technical Specifications for Roadway and 34 General Construction – Milling and Resurfacing of Existing Asphaltic 35 Concrete Pavement and Roadway Base: No damage recovery/user cost 36 will be assessed against the Contractor if all lanes are not open to traffic 37 during the peak traffic period of 6:00AM to 10:00AM and 3:00PM to 7:00PM 38 as long as access is provided to all residences and all places of business 39 whenever construction interferes with the existing means of access. Any 40 proposed closure of side streets to local traffic, requires County pre-approval 41 on each occasion, and notification by Contractor to affected property owners 42 and emergency services fourteen (14) days in advance, unless otherwise 43 approved by the County Traffic Engineer or the County Engineer. 44
05/17/24 00 75 00-2 PC – PID 005582A
