About this file

This document provides specifications and phasing plans for the replacement of vehicle barriers and gates at the U.S. Courthouse Annex and U.S. Bankruptcy Courthouse in Tallahassee, Florida. The project will replace four existing active vehicle barriers with new M30 systems, refurbish and replace existing vehicular sliding gates to meet UL 325 standards, install new high-speed sliding gate operators, a new pre-engineered UL752 level 3 ballistic rated guard booth, a new pedestrian swing gate, fixed bollards, card reader and camera infrastructure, and complete miscellaneous site work including concrete, paving, and landscaping. The specifications require the contractor to provide a temporary guard booth during the first phase, allow staging in designated areas, and complete work during daytime hours according to the outlined phasing plan over a period of approximately ten months with individual gates and barriers taken offline in scheduled phases to maintain security and access.

1. Provide a temporary Guard Booth at Gate 17M-2 during the first phase of construction. The booth will require HVAC, electrical, and lighting. The temporary booth will not require a ballistic rating. Exact type, size, and location to be coordinated with USMS.

2. A specific crash rating is not required during construction. However, as noted on G002, each vehicle barrier is a primary security access point into the site, which must be secured at all times during construction.

5. Staging will be allowed in the small area North of Gate 17A-1 and the larger grass area South of 17A. If additional lay down area is needed, the GC shall coordinate with USMS & GSA. The contractor will be responsible for all restoration at the end of the project.
