About this file
This is an Invitation for Bid (IFB) No. 230124 issued by the City of Tucson's Business Services Department for Sun Tran Support Vehicles, which will be funded by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA). The City seeks to purchase various vehicles including four Hybrid 4-door sedans, four Hybrid SUVs, two 3/4-ton pickup trucks, one 15-passenger van, and one 1-ton truck with service body. The initial purchase will comprise up to four Hybrid 4-door sedans, four Hybrid SUVs, and two 3/4-ton pickup trucks. The solicitation was published on March 7, 2023, with a pre-bid conference scheduled for March 16, 2023, and bids are due on April 11, 2023. The contract term will commence in April 2023 and is scheduled to conclude in April 2028, with the City reserving the option to renew the contract for four additional one-year periods.
The pricing details are to be provided by bidders on the included price page, with bidders required to state the manufacturer and model number for each vehicle type. The vehicles are intended to replace existing Hybrid 4-door sedans, Hybrid SUVs, and 3/4-ton pickup trucks, with the goal of standardizing vehicle selection and potentially realizing better pricing through volume discounts. The City intends to purchase the maximum number of vehicles that funding will allow, with future options to purchase additional vehicles as grant money becomes available. Bidders must comply with FTA terms and conditions, provide detailed specifications, and submit all required certificates with their proposal. The procurement is structured to reduce the need for annual procurement processes and provide flexibility in vehicle acquisition as grants are allocated.
