STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW)

FOR

USCG Base Portsmouth range Thermal Evaporator Instillation

1.0 GENERAL

1.1 BACKGROUND

During essential cleaning and repair operations at the Base Portsmouth Range, personnel's clothing is highly susceptible to contamination from lead residue. As staff conduct repairs and cleaning of the range lead residue adheres to the fabric of their uniforms. Due to the Hampton Roads Sanitation Department (HRSD) regulations, which strictly limit the concentration of lead residue that can be discharged into the public sewer system, utilizing a standard clothes washer for cleaning lead-contaminated work garments is not a viable option. A normal washing machine would release water containing a high concentration of lead particulate, far exceeding the permissible levels set by HRSD for industrial wastewater. To address this compliance issue, the installation of a thermal evaporator system is necessary.

Location of work: 4000 Coast Guard BLVD
