About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for the DLA Aviation New Computed Tomography System solicitation (SP4703-25-R-0007). The Q&A addresses a specific inquiry about software requirements for the X-ray system, clarifying that all software in the delivery must be applicable to the provided hardware. The key clarification states that while software for the detector or X-ray source can come from a manufacturer other than the primary vendor, it must be sold as a configured solution for the machine. The document confirms that integration of developed software for an operating system is permitted, and software must be compatible with the specific workstation's operating system (Windows or Linux). The response indicates that the requirement focuses specifically on X-ray control, imaging, simulation, and analysis software, and this clarification will be added to the specification document on page 12.

Questions / Answers
Q1) For the statement below, by developed do you also mean integrated? When thinking about Windows 10/11 as an operating system or the software that is provided for the x-ray source and detector, all system providers are integrating with some type of software that may not be developed in house. Can you provide some clarification?
Specifications Page 12: “All forementioned Software must be developed and Sold by the Mfg. of the Provided X-Ray System.”
A1) All software included in the delivery must be applicable to the provided hardware.
• For example:
o If the workstation is a Windows-based system, then the software will need to be developed for Windows.
o If the workstation is a Linux-based system, then the software will need to be developed for Linux.
• The requirement focuses on the specific X-ray control, imaging, simulation, and analysis software.
• It is acceptable to have a manufacturer’s software for the detector or x-ray source not originate from the vendor if they are not the original manufacturer, but all software must be sold as a configured solution for the capability of the machine sold.
• Integration of developed software for an OS is permitted.
