About this file

This document is a detailed Statement of Work (SOW) for an asbestos abatement and remediation project at the Oklahoma City Veterans Medical Center. The project involves comprehensive removal of asbestos-containing materials (ACM) from various building locations, including mechanical rooms, crawl spaces, pipe insulation, floor tiles, and roofing materials. The scope of work requires the contractor to establish regulated work areas, implement strict safety protocols, utilize specialized personal protective equipment, conduct air monitoring, and follow detailed decontamination procedures.

Key technical requirements include wet removal techniques, maintaining negative air pressure in work zones, using HEPA filtration, properly packaging and disposing of asbestos waste, and achieving final air clearance testing below 0.01 fibers per cubic centimeter. The contractor must have extensive qualifications, including EPA/OSHA certifications, industrial hygienists, trained personnel, medical surveillance programs, and comprehensive respiratory protection plans. The project involves multiple phases of preparation, abatement, decontamination, and final visual and air quality inspections, with stringent documentation and reporting requirements throughout the asbestos removal process.
