About this file
This is a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the purchase and installation of two Trane RTAF Air-Cooled Screw Chillers for the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) National Wildlife Health Center in Madison, Wisconsin. The solicitation (140G0225R0015) seeks a contractor to provide two 170 nominal cooling ton chillers, with specific requirements including dimensions not exceeding 280 inches long by 90 inches wide, steel leveling frames, and compatibility with existing facility electrical, hydronic, and building automation system (BAS) tie-ins.
The contract is a firm-fixed-price type with a period of performance from July 14, 2025 to April 17, 2026. Proposals are due electronically by 12:00 PM MST on June 30, 2025, submitted to Philip Robinson at probinson@usgs.gov. The government will evaluate proposals based on technical capabilities, key personnel experience, and past performance, with technical merit significantly more important than price. Contractors must provide a detailed project plan, personnel qualifications, and references for similar chiller system installations, with projects preferably involving outdoor air-cooled chiller systems of 100 cooling tons or larger in federal or state institutions.
