2 CUBIC YARD (CY) STATIONARY GARBAGE COMPACTOR UNITS – CRAM-A-LOT MODEL

ST-2HF OR APPROVED ALTERNATE

Material Standards: The body of the compactors shall be fabricated from commercial quality sheet steel.

Safety Standards: Compactors must be in compliance with all applicable OSHA and ANSI Z245.2 safety standards. All equipment must be designed and manufactured in the USA.

1. FRAME CONSTRUCTION SPECIFICATIONS

Chamber Sizing: Manufacturer's Charge Box Capacity shall be 2.0 Cubic Yards with an oƯicial NWRA Rated Size of 1.53 Cubic Yards per stroke.

Floor Construction: Floor to be 1/2-inch thick steel plate over structural framing.

Side Walls: Side plates are to be 1/4-inch thick commercial steel.

Breaker Bar & Teeth: Full-width breaker bar constructed of heavy structural steel, equipped with heavy-duty hinged breaker teeth to hold material inside the container, reduce spring-back, and prevent bridging.

Ram Construction: Floor-riding ram design built to withstand high commercial force.

Ram Wear Guides: Equipped with adjustable and replaceable Ultra-High- Molecular-Weight (UHMW) polyethylene tail guides to ensure straight tracking without metal-on-metal contact.

Ram Wiper: Serviceable flexible ram wiper blade to prevent material migration behind the ram assembly.

Container Attachments: Equipped with standard heavy-duty ratchet turnbuckles and container hooks for secure receiver box connection.

Mouth Bezel Frame: An angle iron frame is to be welded on the sides of the mouth of the compactor so that when the compactor box attaches to it, there are no gaps on the sides. These are to be provided by the vendor and installed at the time of installation.

Receiver Box Guide Rail: Floor-mounted, heavy-duty structural steel receiver box guide rails must be provided and anchored to the concrete pad to ensure precise alignment during container hookups.

2. ELECTRICAL AND HYDRAULIC MOTOR SPECIFICATIONS

Electric Motor: 15 Horse Power, Totally Enclosed Fan-Cooled (TEFC) motor operating at 220/480 volt, 3-phase, 60 Hz.

Hydraulic Pump: High-eƯiciency, quiet-operating vane-style hydraulic pump.

Power Unit Mounting: Remote power unit equipped with a full-length weather cover.

Hydraulic Fittings: JIC and O-ring fittings utilized throughout the entire hydraulic system to prevent fluid leaks.

Hydraulic Reservoir: 33-gallon capacity hydraulic oil reservoir matching the manufacturer's ST-2HF high-force parameters.

Fluid Monitoring: Power unit must include an integrated oil sight gauge for rapid oil level and temperature assessment.

Safety Shutdowns: Integrated low oil level safety shutdown switch (utilizing a reservoir-mounted float) and a high oil temperature safety shutdown switch to automatically protect the hydraulic system from catastrophic failure.

System Valves & Diagnostics: All hydraulic valves shall be rated for a minimum working pressure of 3,000 PSI. System must include a permanently mounted, color-coded diagnostic pressure gauge (utilizing green, yellow, and red operational zones) to easily identify container fullness and bypass tracking.

Compaction Force: Engineered to deliver a Normal Force of 76,900 lbs at 2,000 PSI operational pressure and a Maximum Force of 92,300 lbs at 2,400 PSI maximum pressure matching the ST-2HF platform.

Hydraulic Cylinder: Single 7-inch diameter heavy-duty hydraulic cylinder featuring a 54-inch stroke and a 4-inch rod diameter.

System Certification: Complete machine and control panel must be Underwriters Laboratories (UL) listed.

Cycle Time: High-eƯiciency cycle performance featuring an average class-leading cycle time of 37 seconds.

Operator Controls: NEMA 4 rated pushbutton control station utilizing safe 24-volt operator control circuits.

Control Configuration: Station must feature automatic cycle operation activated via a key-lockable start switch, a key-lockable hauler safety switch, and a prominent emergency stop button.

Remote Accessibility: Compactor must be equipped with a remote control pendant attached via a 15-foot heavy-duty control cable.

System Safeguards: Operator station must feature advanced multi-stage indicator lights, explicitly consisting of a 75% Full warning light and a 100% Full container light to optimize hauling schedules.

Finish Treatment: All surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned, ground free of sharp edges, and primed with one coat of Kem-Flash E61A700 Low V.O.C. primer or equivalent. Finish coat to consist of one coat of industrial dark green enamel paint.

Safety Labeling: Decals and warning stickers must be fully compliant with standard OSHA and ANSI safety regulations.

3. SUBMITTALS AND DOCUMENTATION REQUIREMENTS

Electrical Schematics: The vendor must provide a complete, comprehensive as-built electrical schematic inside the main control panel enclosure. A digital copy (PDF format) must also be delivered to the project manager prior to equipment delivery.

Operations Manual: The vendor must provide a comprehensive, model-specific Operations and Maintenance Manual with the unit. This manual must explicitly cover safe operator instruction, daily inspection routines, preventative maintenance schedules, troubleshooting flowcharts, and a complete system replacement parts list.

4. OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT (LINE-ITEM PRICING)

Open Top Hopper: Provide a heavy-duty, outdoor-rated open top hopper extension designed for drive-up or walk-up configurations. The hopper must feature a symmetrical, double-sided low-profile entry or flared wall configuration to allow unobstructed, safe access for customers approaching and throwing trash from both sides simultaneously.

Photocell Auto Cycle Operation with Multi-Cycle Timer: Provide an automated control system upgrade utilizing a heavy-duty, weather-resistant infrared photocell sensor installed within the hopper throat. The system must feature a programmable multi-cycle timer integrated directly into the PLC. This timer must be field-adjustable to automatically trigger and run 1, 2, 3, or more continuous compaction cycles once the trash level interrupts the beam for a predetermined time delay. This layout eliminates manual push-button activation and ensures expanding or bulky debris is completely cleared past the sensor field.
