The 36-inch diameter pipeline was constructed of Reinforced Concrete Cylinder Pipe (RCCP) in the 1930s.

There are small sections of the original 36-inch pipeline that have been relocated and replaced with Prestressed Concrete Pressure Pipe (PCCP), Ductile Iron Pipe (DIP), Bar-Wrapped Pipe (BWP), and some Welded Steel Pipe (WSP) has been used at aerial crossings. The 48-inch transmission main was constructed of PCPP in the 1960s. Small portions of the 48-inch pipeline have been relocated and replaced with PCPP, DIP, and WSP at aerial crossings.

The City’s potable water distribution system is comprised of a network of pipelines ranging from 2 to 48 inches in diameter. Pipe materials include cast iron pipe (CIP), DIP, galvanized steel, high-density polyethylene (HDPE), and polyvinyl chloride (PVC).

The reclaimed water pipeline system was installed in the 1980s serving residential and commercial properties. Reclaimed water is distributed from the City’s three wastewater treatment plants and consists of approximately 290 miles of pipeline. Transmission and distribution pipelines range in size from 4 to 48 inches in diameter. Individual service connections range in size from 1 to 12 inches in diameter.
