About this file
This is a memorandum from the City of Tucson Business Services department dated March 28, 2024, addressing a Small Business Enterprise (SBE) goal for a construction contract. The project involves the SR 14 Valencia roadway segment from Kolb to Houghton, with the specific contract number still to be determined (TBD). The City has established a 4% SBE goal for this infrastructure project, identifying potential subcontracting opportunities in concrete work, traffic signal electrical, traffic control, and quality control areas.
The memorandum indicates that while the City has suggested specific trade areas for meeting the SBE goal, the contractor retains flexibility to meet the 4% requirement through any subcontracting opportunities they consider appropriate. The document is an internal communication from Margot Grossmann, a Business Enterprise Compliance Specialist in the BSD/Procurement division, to Bob Roggenthen, the Project Manager for the DTM (Department of Transportation and Mobility) division, outlining the SBE compliance expectations for this upcoming road construction project.
