AMENDMENT 2

RFI 1 – 8 and NOTE

Question 1: Can you provide any information as to how the commissioning services are being procured?

Answer 1: This solicitation does not call for the use of an independent commissioning agent.

Commissioning will be accomplished by Government personnel. For the Humidifier specification, the Table of Contents previously listed sections 230800 (Commissioning of HVAC) and 230819 (HVAC Commissioning Checklists and Forms). These sections are not part of this specification and their listing in the Table of Contents are now removed.

Question 2: Confirm whether Alerton is the only approved BAS manufacturer and explore the potential for an alternate DDC system, which would facilitate competition if allowed.

Answer 2: Approved controls vendors shall be Alerton, Andover and Siemens. This applies to Specification sections 230923 for the Building 202 and Building 301 HVAC tasks.

Question 3: Drawing 202-075, shows 11/2” chilled water pipe connecting to AHU-6, the schedule shows the AHU-6 Chilled water coil using 60 GPM of chilled water. Please confirm the 11/2” CHW connection is correct and does not need to be increased to match the flow on the schedule.

Answer 3: The CHW connection should be corrected to 3” diameter.

Question 4: HC- 9-2, HC 9-3, HC 10-2, and HC 10-3 are shown on the schedule as needing 5.5 GPM to the heating coils. Note 3 on drawing 202-075 says to provide 11/2” connection to heating coils, please confirm 11/2” connections are required for these coils?

Answer 4: The heating coil connections should be corrected to 1” diameter.

Question 5: Please confirm the owner will provide the commissioning agent for this project.

Answer 5: The owner shall act as the commissioning agent for this project.

Question 6: Drawing 301-361 on Heating coil 2-3, they show a 2” heating supply and return line being demolished to the existing valve. On drawing 301-363, the new work shows a 4” line tying into the existing 2” line being demolished. Please confirm the new 4” line should tie into the exiting 2” heating line?

Answer 6: Existing supply and return piping is 4”, replace with new 4” piping. Data on sheet 301-371 (Hot Water Reheat Coil Schedule) has now been corrected (with redline changes) regarding Minimum Total Face Area SF column. Values now reflect the following:

HC-1-3 19.4 (this is a 11,400 CFM coil) HC-2-3 33.4 (this is a 19,600 CFM coil) HC-4-3 15.9 (this is a 8,500 CFM coil)

Question 7. The proposal due date falls on Memorial Day. Will the date be extended?

Answer 7. Yes, the due date for proposals is now 12:00 PM EST, May 29, 2018.
