About this file
This document is a government policy for the administration and management of contract services at the Department. It outlines the roles and responsibilities of consultants, contractors, and other public/private agency personnel ("contract personnel") providing services to the Department, as well as the authority and responsibility of the management staff in screening, orienting, and supervising these individuals.
The policy requires that all contract personnel be properly supervised to ensure accurate accounting of work performed and compliance with contractual obligations. All contract personnel must undergo a criminal records review, agree to confidentiality provisions, and receive a Department orientation covering relevant policies and procedures prior to commencing work. The division manager is responsible for ensuring the screening process is completed, and the supervising manager is tasked with monitoring compliance with the contract terms.
