About this file

This document is a justification for other than full and open competition for a federal contract opportunity to renovate operating rooms at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center. The renovation project will update 22,000 square feet of the current operating room suite by providing a new HVAC system and addressing other facility issues. As part of the renovation, the facility requires Trumpf Medical light and equipment booms to match those already installed in recently added hybrid operating rooms and to ensure standardization, reduced maintenance costs, and ease of staff training. The justification cites the brand name specification and need for only one source as the authority for other than full and open competition. The contract opportunity will be publicly advertised with an invitation for bid on www.fbo.gov indicating the brand name requirement.
