About this file
This is a Round 2 Question and Answers document for Request for Bid (RFB) #28265-RH issued by the State of Wisconsin Department of Administration (DOA) for Medium/Heavy Duty Truck purchases of model year 2017 or newer. The procurement encompasses three primary bid items: a DOT Straight Truck with Service Body and 50' Aerial Unit (Specification 07207-01), a DNR 3 Ton Conventional Cab and Chassis 4x4 Fire Truck (Specification 07208-02), and a DOA/DOC-BSI Box Truck (Specification 07206-03). The RFB due date was October 16, 2017 at 2:00 PM CST, with answers to the second round of vendor questions posted on October 6, 2017. Bidders were required to download all Question and Answers sheets, sign and date them, and submit with their bid response using the Revised Bid Price Sheet dated October 6, 2017. The established contracts are intended for use by State Agencies, including University of Wisconsin System campuses and eligible participants in Wisconsin's cooperative purchasing program.
The Question and Answers document addresses specific technical and specification clarifications across all three bid items. For the DOT Straight Truck, clarifications included acceptable travel heights (12' 3" +/- 1" maximum with equipment stowed), platform specifications (single man bucket required), and compartment configuration details. For the DNR Fire Truck, a correction was issued clarifying the bid item number and confirming the requirement for a 3 Ton rather than 2 Ton vehicle. For the Box Truck, detailed responses were provided regarding engine warranties (5-year/100,000-mile parts and labor coverage), cab equipment specifications (41" headroom measured at rear of seat cushion acceptable), interior features, exterior lighting requirements, and body specifications. The document specifically mandated a Morgan Dry Freight FRP body with maximum interior dimensions of 96" height by 193" length by 95" width, and rejected Palfinger ILT-35 as an acceptable alternative to the specified Maxon Tuk-A-Way GPT Series lift gate.
