About this file
This is an Addendum #1 issued by the City of Ocala, Florida on May 1, 2026, clarifying the scope of work for solicitation ITB# REC/260623 regarding Underbrush Removal Services across three municipal park locations. The project encompasses underbrush removal and related services at Ft King National Historic Landmark, Heritage Nature Conservancy Park, and Scott Springs Park. A mandatory pre-bid meeting and site visit were held on April 29, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Ft King National Historic Landmark, with sequential site visits to Heritage Nature Conservancy Park and Scott Springs Park. Failure to attend all three mandatory site visits resulted in bidder disqualification. This is a lump sum project requiring the vendor to provide all materials, equipment, and labor necessary for completion.
The addendum provides specific clarifications for each location to guide bidder scope interpretation. At Ft King National Historic Landmark, vine removal is excluded from the scope. At Heritage Nature Conservancy Park, vendors may run over or navigate around existing logs, remove trees under four inches while preserving larger palms, avoid the bamboo area, leave Cogan grass for City treatment, and mulch materials as finely as possible. The work extends from the retention pond through wooded areas to the trail east of Fort King Middle School. At Scott Springs Park, which features limestone substrate and prior underbrush treatment, bushhogging is permitted, with City property boundaries defined at the open field near Aldi and storage facilities. The retention pond at Scott Springs Park is excluded from the solicitation scope.
