About this file

This document is an RFQ Addendum No. 3 for a Construction Manager/General Contractor (CMGC) project involving the Ridenbaugh Canal Diversion Headworks located in Boise, Idaho. The addendum outlines a comprehensive preconstruction meeting scope that includes multiple stages of project engagement, starting with an initial two-day kick-off meeting involving in-person and virtual participation from key project team members. The scope details four primary meeting types: Initial CMGC Kick-off (two 4-hour meetings plus a site visit), Bi-Weekly General Project Meetings, Monthly Workshop Meetings, and Design Review Workshops spanning 30%, 60%, 90%, and 100% design stages.

The meetings are structured to facilitate collaborative project planning, with specific objectives including defining roles and responsibilities, establishing communication protocols, reviewing design documents, discussing project budgets and schedules, identifying constructability issues, and examining risk registers. Attendance requirements specify in-person participation by the Project Manager and Project Superintendent, with virtual attendance by the Lead Scheduler and Lead Estimator. Each meeting type has a specific duration and focus, ranging from 1-hour coordination sessions to 8-hour comprehensive design review workshops, with an emphasis on cost estimation, schedule updates, risk management, and potential value engineering opportunities.

b. Set Communications Plan

c. Review agreements

d. Project Overview

c. Review 30% Design Documents (Discipline-by-discipline review)

d. Project Budget / Schedule - Preliminary Project sequencing/schedule, including major constraints

b. Facility Review

d. Linear Project components

f. Known constructability issues, including major operational interface requirements

CM/GC’s responsible for notifying the Project Team of any perceived cost or schedule impacts during these meetings and following up with appropriate documentation. It is also the expectation of the CM/GC to highlight potential constructability issues and cost, and schedule-saving alternatives during these meetings. Discuss CM/GS’s observations and recommendations. Attendees include at a minimum: the Project Manager, Superintendent, Virtual attendance by the Lead Estimator, and lead scheduler, along with any other necessary personnel. After each formal Project Cost Model submission, work with the Owner to review and reconcile comments and identify and update Project risk allocations.
