RFQ 25-392

Install New Gate Operator & Concrete Pad

DATE: May 7, 2025

RE: RFQ No. 25-392 ADDENDUM NO. 01

To prospective vendors:

New Smyrna Beach Utilities is issuing the following addendum. As such it becomes an integral part of the proposal and must be acknowledged by the return of this signed form, with your proposal form, acknowledging receipt of the addendum.

BIDDER question is in black. UTILITIES responses are in red

1. Will you accept an alternate gate operator manufacturer-see attached manual for ALL O MATIC? We would like the Liftmaster gate operator that was specified in the scope of work.

2. Will you accept a steel mounting table for the gate operator in lieu of the concrete pad-easier access for electrical conduits and wiring? We would like the concrete pad installed.

3. Is the high voltage power currently installed, or will it be installed by the City of New Smyrna Beach? If the power supply is 120VAC then it can be installed at the gate operator, however if the incoming power is 240 VAC the required surge protection must be installed in the breaker panel by a licensed electrician. Please advise? – The power is not currently installed. New Smyrna Beach Utilities will have the power installed.

4. We assume that the gate operator is will be mounted to an existing slide gate – Please advise. – Yes, the new gate operator will be mounted to the existing slide gate.

5. Is the driveway surface gravel, concrete or asphalt. We strongly recommend that you consider a wired loop system. The virtual loop system is relatively new to the industry and all the bugs have not been removed. We are trying to direct you away from any devices that could create service issues and render the gate inoperable. – The driveway surface is gravel. The driveway has very heavy-duty rubber matting installed to keep the gravel in place at this substation. We do not want to cut into the matting for this project.
