Security Operation Functions
General Requirement
The overarching requirement is to protect the NRC information systems environment from all cyber security threats. The functions listed below are the tools used to monitor, detect and respond to cyber security events and incidents. The functions below require adequate staffing of experienced security analyst and security administrators to effectively operate, manage, administer and, most of importantly, analyze the data from all the systems listed in order to detect malicious activity within the agency’s network. Inadequate staffing will result in an inability to provide a true situational awareness view of the NRC environment and respond to events and incidents in a rapid fashion.
