U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Responses to Questions Information Technology Infrastructure and Support Services (RFP-33-11-325)
Response Package 7 05/10/2010 Page 1 of 1
ID RFP Reference Question Response 377 General Clarification In the 2nd round of questions and answers, the answer to question 50 states the offeror is to support non-blackberry cellular devices, but does not provide a quantity or service plan requirement. Are these included in the 1,000 blackberry devices requested? If not, may we assume the 450 minutes will suffice for the service plan? Also, please provide a quantity. May we assume a graduated schedule of 50% per year to convert these to blackberry devices? If not, please provide an estimated schedule.
The cellular devices referenced are not included in the 1,000 BlackBerry devices requested. 450 minutes will suffice for the service plan. In the Price Schedule provided with the ITISS RFP, a quantity of 140 cellular devices was included. Although the NRC desires to move these devices from cellular to BlackBerry devices so that there is only a single class of devices, the government cannot furnish a schedule at this time.
378 General Clarification In the 3rd round of questions and answers, the answer to question 168 references the product AnyQueue for print management software. Please confirm the offeror is not required to provide this product or is not required to purchase releases/upgrades to this product.
The Offeror is NOT required to provide AnyQueue or to purchase releases/upgrades to this product as this is provided by the NRC.
379 General Clarification In the 4th round of questions and answers, the NRC responded that pager support consisted of battery replacements and "limited service." Please clarify what is meant by "limited service?"
Even though the NRC has distributed and has service plans for over 100 pager devices, the government believes that only a small number of these (less than 10) are actually still in use. The NRC is currently in the process of turning off the service plans for the vast majority of these devices and providing service plans for the small number that remain. The incumbent sub-contracts these devices on a service plan much like cell phones and BlackBerry devices, so all the NRC desires from the ITISS contractor is customer service, device management, and provisioning.
380 General Clarification In the answers released on 5/6/2010, the NRC stated the offeror was responsible for UPS protection for the network distribution devices at the NRC HQ, regions and satellite offices. Will NRC be providing the number of closets containing network distribution devices not housed in the data center?
LAN Distribution Closets (Approximate Number):
Headquarters (Bethesda, MD and Rockville, MD): 50 Regional and Satellite Offices: 25
