About this file

This document is an Addendum No. 1 for RFP #15-25 for an Annual Underground Utility Contractor issued by New Smyrna Beach Utilities in Florida. The request for proposals seeks a qualified Underground Utility and Excavation Contractor to perform utility work, with projects typically under $200,000. There will be no prebid meeting, and the contract appears to be a continuing services contract for selected utility work as needed, without pre-planned projects.

The addendum clarifies several key contractual details, including that bidders must possess a specific Underground Utility and Excavation Contractor's License in Florida, not just a general contractor's license. The document indicates that no retainage will be withheld, and bonds are not required for smaller projects under $200,000. Additionally, professional liability coverage is not applicable to this solicitation. The utilities commission emphasizes that funds will be made available per selected utility work needed, and there is no predetermined annual budget for the contract.
