BID ADDENDUM NO. 2 - TID RADIO & ASSET SERVICES BUILDING

This is Bid Addendum No. 2 issued by the City of Long Beach Department of Public Works for Plans and Specifications No. R-7296 and Drawings No. B-4854 for the TID Radio & Asset Services Building project. The addendum provides clarifications and modifications to the original bid documents and specifications. The project involves comprehensive building renovation and construction services including selective demolition, concrete work, masonry, HVAC systems, electrical infrastructure, plumbing, roofing, parking lot resurfacing, vehicle exhaust systems, fire protection, EV charging stations, and various interior finishes and accessories. The bid opening is scheduled for August 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Key clarifications include confirmation that the contractor will furnish and install EV charging stations (CFCI), removal of window tint from scope due to existing mirror tint already present, and a $6,000 allowance for door hardware repairs and replacements. The addendum specifies that plumbing testing requirements apply only to new and modified sanitary waste and vent piping, with existing undisturbed piping exempt from retesting.

The base bid structure includes 33 line items covering all work scopes, with a mobilization/demobilization allowance capped at 5% of total bid items 2-33. Pre-established allowances include $1,000 for door/frame dings and scratches, $20,000 for new ceiling and grid in specific offices and vestibule areas, and $6,000 for door repairs as needed. The City retains responsibility for furnishing and installing all furniture required for the facility, while the contractor coordinates moving and protecting furniture during construction, including items to remain on site and those to be discarded. The contractor must move and protect any additional furniture acquired by the City during construction, with associated costs addressed via change order. Bidders must acknowledge receipt of this addendum by signature and submission with Division C bid documents to avoid being deemed non-responsive. All addenda issued before bid deadline form part of the contract documents.

PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS NO. R-7296

DRAWINGS NO. B-4854

TID RADIO & ASSET SERVICES BUILDING

NOTICE TO HOLDERS OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS

Please note the following changes, clarifications, and additions:

1. Drawings B-4854: Error on mechanical drawings, vehicle exhaust system

The schedule on the mechanical drawings references incorrect information related to the fan and corresponding rail system – FUA-2700 (sheet M-0.02).

Sheet M-0.02 is updated to reflect the correct fan – FUA-4700. Sheet A-1.02 includes the correct references in the vehicle exhaust system schedule. Please note, Plymovent is aware of the discrepancy and has been quoting the correct system. If using an approved equal, please make the vendor aware of this change.

2. REQUEST FOR INFORMATION:

1 Keynote 10 / Sheet A1.00 states that the contractor is to provide and install

(N) EV charging station; however, in specification section 11 11 33 Electric

Vehicle Charging Station, para. 2.01.A states Product: Provided by the

Owner.

Please clarify if the owner will furnish the EV charging station and contractor to install (OFCI) or contractor to furnish and install the charging station

(CFCI).

The EV charging station will be furnished and installed by the contractor (CFCI).

2 Sheet A-1.01, Note 11 calls for window tint to be applied on the exterior windows. There are no exterior elevations of the north and

East side of the building. Please provide dimensions for the exterior windows that are to receive window tint.

It was recognized that the exterior windows do have an existing mirror type tint already. Window tint is removed from the scope.

3 Keynote #5 on sheet A-1.01 Partition

Plan states “Existing door to remain…Confirm existing hardware is in working order and replace as required where missing. Contractor to confirm all doors are in working order;

repair as needed.”

We did not have the chance to really assess the existing condition of the hardware of the doors to remain during the job walk. For purposes of uniformity and responsiveness, therefore, may we respectfully recommend the Owner to provide a $

The bid sheet is amended to include a $6,000 allowance for this scope.

allowance for this scope of work in the base bid?

4 On sheet A6.02 CG/1 calls for corner guards. There are no specifications for this product. Please provide product information for the corner guards.

Refer to finish schedule on A-

6.02: 1.5" x 1.5" x 48"H, clear

5 Option A -

Will the furniture being reused in the building be moved by someone on your staff or do you need us to add furniture removal and protection during construction to our scope?

Option B -

If you are planning on purchasing new furniture for the building, is it within our scope to remove and dispose of the existing furniture? Secondly, if you are planning on getting new furniture do you need us to provide it, or will you and your team purchase and install it?

The contractor will coordinate moving and protecting the furniture during construction, since the furniture will remain on site. The furniture will need to be moved as needed to complete construction.

As the City continues to identify additional furniture, the contractor will need to move and protect it. See detailed attachment of what furniture will remain and what furniture will be removed and disposed of by contractor. Any additional furniture acquired and not addressed in this addendum for moving and protection can be addressed via change order.

The City is responsible for furnishing and installing (by others) all the furniture required for the facility.

6 On P-0.01 there is a note you need to read, see below. This means we would have to pull every plumbing fixture and open wall to cap waste and vent lines so we can test. There would be saw cutting, patching concrete, tile

All new and modified sanitary waste and vent piping shall be tested in accordance with the

California Plumbing Code prior to concealment. Existing piping that remains work, drywall…. This would be a huge expense! Let me know how you want to proceed. Might just be some boiler plate note.
