About this file
This is an appendix to a Performance Work Statement for maintaining cranes, hoists, and lifts at Naval Nuclear Power Training Unit (NPTU). The appendix specifies U.S. Navy NAVFAC P307 certification requirements that contractor personnel must satisfy before performing maintenance, inspections, certifications, and quadrennial load tests on equipment at the facility.
Contractor Electrical and Mechanical Technicians are required to successfully complete eight mandatory training courses and exams per NAVFAC P307 standards. These courses include General Crane Safety (16 hours), Category-3 Non-Cab Operated Crane Safety (16 hours), Crane Electrician (16 hours), Electrical Crane Inspector (4 hours), Crane Mechanic (24 hours), Mechanical Crane Inspector (4 hours), Rigging Gear Inspection (4 hours), and Load Test Director (16 hours). The Contracting Officer's Representative will submit completed training certifications through NPTU's designated Site Crane and Weight Handling Supervisor to Naval Facilities South East (NAVFACSE), serving as the Certifying Official, for approval before technicians may perform services. The course requirements are subject to modification through future additions or deletions.
