Memorandum To: MICC Contract Specialist

Subject: Hot Head Laundry Steam Press (12 each) PWS/Specs

Requirement: The Laundry Facility requires 12 each Hot Head Steam Presses to accomplish the mission of laundering clothing and linens for the USMA cadets and Medical Treatment Facilities. The equipment will replace the current items which are well beyond life cycle expectancy and could cause a delay in the processing of laundry. The presses have a life cycle expectancy of 20 years but are now 63 years old. These are utilized daily to accomplish the mission and meet terms and conditions of the laundry contract. To maintain operational tempo with properly maintained equipment, operation must be seamless and result in minimal operational deficiencies. The intent is to purchase the equipment as soon as practical utilizing the following specifications.

Hot Head Laundry Steam Presses Specifications:

1. 3 each Laundry Hot Head units to be Apron buck & head approximately 54” x 17-20” padded buck with a bare steel head

2. 9 each Laundry Hot Head units to be Legger buck and head approximately 53-57” x 16-20” Padded buck with a bare steel head

3. Buck steam pedal

4. All heads and steam lines need to be insulated on the outside to prevent burns

5. Adjustable time before auto opening

6. Manual open override control

7. Two hand auto closing

8. Adjustable air pressure regulator

9. All steam iron alongside each press

10. Air operated 100psi max available

Vendor Requirements:

1. Must complete a site visit to examine current equipment and ensure new equipment will be compatible with all electric, plumbing, and steam, as necessary, and fits into installation space provided.

2. Must remove and dispose of current equipment, including disconnect of all components tied into facility utilities, and install new equipment.

3. The vendor will be responsible for shipping, delivering, uncrating, installation, start-up, electrical, and demonstration of new equipment and removal of packaging and installation materials. Installation to include connection of new equipment to all existing electric, plumbing, and steam.

4. Must include a standard 1-year warranty on parts and workmanship.
