About this file
This document is a Request for Proposal (RFP) No. 212782 from the City of Tucson's Business Services Department, Shared Services Procurement Division, seeking hazardous waste disposal services. The price page attachment provides an extensive list of 75 different types of waste materials requiring disposal, ranging from absorbent materials contaminated with gasoline to mercury-containing devices, liquid pesticides, batteries, and various chemical compounds. The items are grouped and categorized by waste type, with estimated annual quantities for many items. The city requires contractors to provide pricing for disposal of these materials in various container sizes including 5-gallon buckets, 30-gallon drums, and 55-gallon drums, with specific pricing requested for different sludge percentages and waste characteristics.
The pricing document allows bidders to quote disposal rates for each waste type, with the city noting that the quantities are estimates and reserves the right to increase or decrease amounts as needed. The proposal includes additional pricing requirements for labor rates for technicians and drivers for as-needed work, as well as pricing for supplementary materials like metal over-pack drums, vermiculite, and absorbents. Group A items are highlighted as the most commonly received materials, suggesting these will be of particular importance in evaluating proposals. The document is designed to establish a comprehensive hazardous waste disposal contract that provides flexibility for the city's changing waste management needs while seeking competitive and transparent pricing from potential contractors.
