About this file
This is a Price List for Machine Shop Services submitted in response to Invitation for Bid (IFB-26-215) issued by the City of St. Petersburg, Florida, for the procurement of machine shop services on an as-needed basis to support municipal operations across Water Resources, Sanitation, and Fleet Management Departments. The scope of work includes machining and repair of pumps, compressors, blowers, and aerators; fabrication and welding of structural steel components; refurbishing filter tanks; fabricating aluminum back plates and stainless steel cap covers; repairing stainless steel mixers; fabricating and installing powder-coated guardrails; duplicating and fabricating parts; and fabricating and installing equipment enclosures. The solicitation was released April 15, 2026, with questions due April 30, 2026, and bid responses due May 19, 2026, at 3:00 PM. The City will award contracts to both a primary and secondary vendor, with an initial three-year contract term and options to renew for two additional one-year periods under mutually agreed terms.
The price list establishes hourly labor rates for three worker classifications—Machinists/Maintenance Machinists, Welders/Solderers, and Helpers/Assistants—across multiple service levels, including shop work, site work during regular business hours (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday), night shifts (5:00 PM to 8:00 AM Monday through Friday), and premium hours (City Holidays, Saturdays, and Sundays). The pricing also includes a line item for Parts and Materials not listed with a 15 percent markup applied. Qualified vendors must demonstrate a minimum of five years of experience in machine shop services, provide references from at least three previous customers, allow other agencies to piggyback the contract, and maintain competitive pricing throughout the contract term. Vendors must obtain a bid bond equal to five percent of the total bid value and performance and payment bonds equal to 100 percent of the bid amount, provide proof of minimum insurance coverage ($1,000,000 Commercial General Liability per occurrence and $1,000,000 Commercial Automobile Liability combined single limit), and comply with Florida statutory requirements including E-Verify participation. All work must include a one-year warranty on workmanship, and vendors must provide pickup and delivery services at no additional cost for facilities within St. Petersburg and one designated location in Odessa, Florida.
