About this file

This is a Preliminary Question and Answer Session document for VA solicitation 36C25626Q0967, addressing clarifications on antimicrobial shelving unit requirements for the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center.

The Q&A clarifies critical product specifications: the procurement requires 21 stainless steel shelving units and 20 antimicrobial aluminum units in gray finish, with aluminum units unacceptable as substitutes for stainless steel applications due to placement in different temperature environments (cold versus dry areas). The antimicrobial aluminum units must feature a fall-arresting bar (shelf lip preventing items from falling) and cannot be wire shelving. All units must meet or exceed mandatory characteristics in the Statement of Work; this is a non-brand requirement with no approved manufacturer or distributor limitations. Pricing must include freight and shipping costs, with all exterior mailing and shipping labels bearing the contract number. Removal and disposal of existing replaced units only (not additional removal) is included in the contractor's scope. Delivery and installation must occur during normal business hours with coordination through VA Logistics; the back loading dock will be available for unloading, and stair carry is not anticipated if using the loading dock. The solicitation is a 100% small business set-aside under NAICS code 337215, with responses due electronically to Marcus.Sidney@va.gov by July 14, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. Central Time, and all questions due by July 8, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. CST.
