About this file

This is a pre-proposal meeting agenda from the Michigan Department of Technology, Management & Budget for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Ludington State Park Beechwood Campground project to replace two toilet shower buildings. The project involves demolishing existing buildings, upgrading seven campsites to meet ADA requirements, and modifying the DNR standard prototype toilet shower building design. Proposals are due April 29, 2021, by 2:00 pm, with questions accepted until April 21, 2021. The project timeline includes design from June-August 2021, bidding in September 2021, and construction from October 11, 2021, to May 2022. The proposal format requires both technical (80%) and cost (20%) portions, including phases for Schematic Design, Final Design, and Construction Administration services.

The construction budget is established at $1,463,000. The project will require coordination with an ongoing electrical service upgrade to approximately 100 campsites at back Beechwood Campground. The campground will be closed during construction, and the site utilities include well water, drainfields, and propane, which are deemed adequate. Environmental abatement, if required, will be the contractor's responsibility, though the initial environmental report will be performed by the State of Michigan. The proposal must include plan review fees, topographic surveys, and geological reports as reimbursable expenses.
