This document is Addendum Number 1, issued February 10, 2020, for the Palm Beach County Department of Airports project PB 20-1 titled Public Address System Replacement at Palm Beach International Airport. The addendum modifies the original proposal documents through additions, deletions, clarifications, and corrections that become part of the contract documents. Proposers receiving this addendum must acknowledge receipt and attach it to their proposals. The addendum adds six technical specification sections to the project manual: Section 01731 Cutting and Patching (2 pages), Section 01732 Selective Demolition (4 pages), Section 09220 Portland Cement and Plaster (8 pages), Section 09260 Gypsum Board Assemblies (19 pages), Section 09512 Acoustical Tile Ceilings (5 pages), and Section 09912 Painting (8 pages). Additionally, the addendum introduces a new drawing Sheet A-001 for Typical Repair Details and modifies the Drawing Index and existing demolition and public address system legend sheets to reference architectural specifications and details for patching, painting, and replacement of ceiling tiles. The deadline for contractor questions regarding the addendum is February 20, 2020, seven calendar days prior to the bid receipt date.

The specifications detail requirements for interior and exterior finishes, including cutting and patching procedures for existing construction, selective demolition and removal protocols, plaster application and installation standards, gypsum board assemblies with fire-resistance and sound transmission ratings, acoustical tile ceiling systems, and painting operations. Key product requirements include specification of materials such as metal framing components, lath systems, joint treatment materials with low volatile organic compound (VOC) limits compliant with South Coast Air Quality Management District regulations, textured finish coatings, and various trim accessories. The specifications mandate submittals including product data, samples, shop drawings, coordination drawings, VOC data with Green Seal certifications, and environmental data per ASTM E2129. Quality assurance requirements include mockups, preinstallation conferences, fire-test response characteristics compliance with ASTM standards, and sound attenuation standards where indicated. Installation standards reference ASTM C 840, ASTM C 754, ASTM C 1063, and other applicable standards, with specific tolerances for flatness, spacing, and fastener placement outlined throughout the technical sections.
