About this file
This document is an Addendum to the bidding and contract documents for the Secretary of State Paint Shop & Spray Room project in Springfield, Illinois. The addendum modifies the original bidding documents dated April 21, 2023 and includes responses to contractor questions, revisions to drawings and specifications, and information about product substitutions.
The project involves the renovation of an existing pre-engineered metal building to convert it to a usable maintenance paint and finishing shop. The addendum provides clarification on electrical feeder sizing, conduit routing, fire alarm system coordination, and details on filter racks, exhaust wall caps, and access panel sizes. It also includes revisions to keynote information on the architectural drawings and updates to the mechanical equipment electrical data schedules.

ADDENDUM 2 Add #2 - 1
July 2023
ADDENDA NO. TWO (2) FOR
Secretary of State Paint Shop & Spray Room Project No: 22.09 Date of Issue: July 25, 2023
This addenda forms a part of the bidding and contract documents and modifies the original bidding documents, dated April 21, 2023.
GENERAL NOTES
QUESTIONS\ANSWERS
1. The feeder schedule on page E5.0 shows (2) sets of (4)500kcmil copper feeders for the new 400-amp main distribution panel located in the paint shop. This appears to be oversized, is this a typo? Response: Feeder schedule revised in Addenda No.1. See Addenda No. 1.
2. On page E1.0, note 6 says to ‘PROVIDE 4" COMMUNICATION CONDUIT FROM
PAINT SHOP BUILDING TO COAL BUILDING. COORDINATE TERMINATION
LOCATION. Note 10 says ‘3" CONDUIT DOWN TO BASEMENT ELECTRICAL ROOM FROM FIRST FLOOR.’ Are both of these notes referring to the same conduit? If yes, at what point do we transition from 4” to 3”? Response: Note was revised in Addenda No. 1. See Addenda No. 1
3. Page E1.0, states that we are to install 2 gang box and pull string in ¾” conduit. Does this infer that the customer has their own vendor to provide structured cabling?
Response: Cabling to be pulled by contractor. See Addenda No. 1.
Is it permissible to group the (2)2” conduits, on page E4.0 note 3, with under conduits in trench from paint building and existing power plant, as long as 12” separation from power is adhered to? Response: Yes this is permissible. See Addenda No. 1.
4. Tech Electronics has indicated only a graphics workstation is on the Capital fire alarm network. Apparently, the existing power plant does not have a fire alarm panel to extend from, as shown on the drawings. Could they please give us more information on the existing fire alarm system, or lack thereof? Response: See Addenda No. 1.
Sheet
