PAD B100 and B101 Elevator Upgrade Project Salient Characteristics for Elevator Cab Interior Finishes:
I. Ceiling:
· Satin stainless steel panels, and concealed access panel
· Six-panel suspended island design
· 6 LED downlights with all glass housing, color temperature: 3000K, CRI:80+, Lumens: minimum 450lm/ lamp
II. Wall panels: Forms + Surfaces LEVELe-106 Elevator Interiors, or equal
· Versatile panelized system with self-revealing extrusion channels, aluminum framed panels
· Extruded aluminum panel frame to have mitered corners in clear finish
· Panel inset consist of a decorative face material bonded to a fire-rated substrate
· The cab rear corners to have 90 degree angled reveals; front corners to have flat reveal strips
· The stainless steel base of no more than 4” to be fitted between the finish floor and the wall panels
· Wall panels below the handrail panels to have stainless steel in Seastone finish, or equal
· Rear wall panels above the handrail panels to have lightweight glass panel: Diamalite ViviSpectra Spectrum glass with custom image interlayer. The glass panel consists of one transparent lite of glass and reflective glass backer, both tempered. Configuration: Reflect, Finish: Standard and LumiLevel #1, or equal
· The two side wall panels above the handrail panels to have Stainless Steel Eco-Etch Patterns, panel pattern and color to be determined or equal
III. Handrail:
· 1-1/2” diameter tubular rail with tee standoffs join segment of Sextant rail, or equal
· Satin stainless steel finish
· Finial style: Cylinder, polished stainless steel finish
· Handrails to be mounted on handrail panels with pre- drilled holes
· 2 handrails on each 3 sides of the elevator cab, total 6 handrails in each elevator cab.
· The bottom handrails shall be mounted at 30” On Center AFF and the second handrail shall be mounted at 42” On Center AFF
IV. Flooring: Terrazzo Tiles
· Material: Homogenous terrazzo floor tile
· Tile thickness: No less than 3/16”
· Tile dimension: 24”x24” tile
· Critical Radiant Flux (ASTM E648) Class 1: 0.45 w/cm 2 or higher
· Static Coefficient (ASTM D2047) Slip Coefficient, minimum 0.80
· Smoke density (ASTM E662) Maximum specific optical density <450
· Antistatic Behavior (EN1815) Antistatic: less than 2 kilovolts (kV)
· Static load limit (ASTM F970) >1000psi
· Durometer Hardness (ASTM D2240) Shore A: >100
· Chemical Resistance (ASTM F925): Best, no change
· Finish: To match the hallway terrazzo flooring. Ground and polished to specified diamond grit finish
· Colors and pattern: An off-white field colors and a gray accent color to match the terrazzo flooring in the hallway. See Addendum 1 for the pattern layout.
· Adhesive: Mapei Ultrabond ECO 373 low emitting VOC adhesive, or equal
· Product Warranty- (20 years) warranty from time of final inspection to be free from manufacturing defects

SECTION 14 27 00 ELEVATOR CAB INTERIOR SYSTEMS
Part 1 GENERAL
1.1 Summary
A. Section Includes: Elevator cars and elevator car finishes for electric traction and hydraulic elevators. Pre-engineered elevator interior system including rear and side wall panels, handrail, bases, ceiling and lighting. Elevator interior system comes “ready to install” with fasteners, adhesives, and other materials required for a complete assembly. Fasteners shall be concealed type.

1.2 References

1.3 Submittals
A. Provide submittals in accordance with Section 01 30 50 and Section 14 21 23 – Submittal Procedures.
B. Submit manufacturer’s shop drawings, installation drawings, installation instructions and maintenance instructions.
C. Submit environmental impact data for all materials.
D. Submit samples no less than 6" x 6" for all specified material finishes.
E. Submit panel edge extrusion samples no less than 6” of specified finish.
F. Manufacturer information:

1.4 Quality Assurance

B. Installer Qualifications
1. Minimum Five years of experience in the installation of elevators or elevator interiors.
1.5 Delivery, Storage and Handling
A. Deliver materials to installation site in manufacturer’s original packaging. Handle products in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions. Store in dry, secure location, protected against direct sunlight and excessive heat. Protect finished surfaces with strippable film.
1.6 Warranty
A. Provide manufacturer’s standard warranty.
1. Warranty terms: one year against defects in materials and workmanship.
Part 2 PRODUCT
2.1 Elevator Rear and Side Wall Panels
A. General

Part 3 EXECUTION
3.1 Preparation
A. Protect elevator finishes, fixtures and equipment from damage caused by work of this Section.
3.2 Installation
A. Do not make structural changes to elevator cab. Do not install work in a manner that interferes with the safe operation of elevator.
B. Install in accordance with elevator interior system manufacturer’s instructions.
3.3 Cleaning and Protection
A. Remove strippable film. Clean exposed surface in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.
B. Protect exposed surfaces from damage by subsequent construction.

SECTION 09 66 16 TERRAZZO FLOOR TILE
PART 1 - GENERAL
1.1 DESCRIPTION:
A. This section specifies requirements for terrazzo tile for installation for elevator cab flooring.
1.2 RELATED WORK:
A. Color, Size, Thickness, Finish and Type: See Salient Characteristics of Flooring on p.1.
1.3 QUALITY ASSURANCE:
| A. | Approval by Contracting Officer Representative (COR) is required of products or service, or proposed manufacturer, suppliers and installers, and will be based upon submission by Contractor of certification that: |
| 1. | Manufacturer has manufactured terrazzo tile as one of his principal products for a minimum of five (5) years. Submit list of not less than five (5) installations. List is to include name of project, and owner and location of project. Submit manufacturer’s qualifications. |
| 2. | Installer has installed terrazzo tile for a minimum of five (5) years. Submit installer’s qualifications. |
1.4 SUBMITTALS:
A. Submit in accordance with Section 01 33 23, SHOP DRAWINGS, PRODUCT DATA, AND SAMPLES.
B. Sustainable Design Submittals, as described below:
1. Postconsumer and pre-consumer recycled content as specified in PART 2 - PRODUCTS.
2. For flooring adhesive installation containing volatile organic compounds, provide documentation indicating applicable volatile organic compounds per volume as specified in PART 2 - PRODUCTS.
| C. | Flooring Manufacturer's Literature and Data: Printed pre-installation and installation instructions for conditions indicated. |
| D. | Certificates: Indicating materials conform to specified requirements. Indicating flooring manufacturer's approval of underlayment, substrate preparation, adhesive finishes and cleaners. |

1.5 DELIVERY:
A. Deliver materials to job in manufacturer's original unopened containers, free of damage, with manufacturer's brand name marked thereon.
1.6 STORAGE:
A. Store materials in a protected area. That is kept dry and has a temperature not lower than 18 degrees C (65 degrees F) or higher than 27 degrees C (80 degrees F).
1.7 PROJECT CONDITIONS:
A. Do not install tiles until all other work that could cause damage to the finish flooring has been completed. Acclimate tiles and maintain spaces where tile is to be installed to a temperature of not less than 21 degrees C (70 degrees F) for at least 48 hours before, during and after the installation of tiles. A minimum temperature of 13 degrees C (55 degrees F) is to be maintained thereafter.
1.8 warranty:
A. Construction Warranty: Comply with FAR clause 52.246-21, “Warranty of Construction”.

PART 2 - PRODUCTS
2.1 TERRAZZO TILE:
A. Provide terrazzo tile that is of color, size, thickness, finish and type as specified in Section 09 06 00, SCHEDULE FOR FINISHES. Tiles are to consist of marble, glass and stone chips embedded in a resilient polyester resin matrix. Chips sizes and gradation to match the terrazzo flooring in the hallway. Provide tile with the following properties.
1. Recycled Content of Terrazzo Products: Post-consumer content not less than 20%, pre-consumer content not less than 15%.

2.2 ADHESIVE:
A. Provide terrazzo tile manufacturer's standard product or a product recommended by the terrazzo tile manufacturer.
1. Adhesive to have a VOC content of 70 g/L or less when calculated according to 40 CFR 59, (EPA Method 24).
2.5 METAL EDGE STRIPS:
A. Extruded aluminum, butt-type, 38 mm (1-1/2 inches) wide with thickness to set top surface flush with top of tile and with bevel at exposed edge. Edge strips to have countersunk holes, within 12 mm (1/2 inch) of each end and spaced at no more than 203 mm (8 inches) on center for securement.
PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.1 GENERAL:
A. Provide terrazzo tile flooring on the (5) elevator floors as shown on the plan on Addendum 1. After becoming familiar with details of the work, verify dimensions in the field, and advise the COR of any discrepancy before performing the work.
3.2 INSTALLATION:
| A. | Install tile in accordance with the tile manufacturers approved installation instructions, except as specified herein. Lay design symmetrical about center lines of rooms. Joints are to be maximum 0.79 mm (1/32 inch) and in true alignment. Cut tile to fit snugly at pipes and other fixed vertical surfaces. Seal joints at pipes with silicone. Remove spots or smears of adhesive immediately. Make entire surfaces of finished tile floors smooth, straight, and free from bleeding adhesive, buckles, waves or projecting tile edges upon completion. |
| B. | Metal Edge Strips: Secure strips with No. 10 aluminum alloy, counter sunk flathead machine screws with expansion sleeves. Provide metal edge strips, in one (1) piece, at any exposed edges of tile. |

D. Lay flooring flush with threshold plate and base.
3.4 CLEANING:
A. Upon completion and after adhesive has cured, clean flooring in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations.
3.5 PROTECTION:
A. From the time of laying until acceptance, protect the flooring from damage. Replace damaged, loose, broken, or curled tiles. Except as necessary to install new tile, keep all traffic off new tile for at least 24 hours after installation.
