P17PS01771, Adaptive Renovation of Building 728 Fort Vancouver NHS Attachment 11: Clarifications provided with Amendment #3
This document is transmitted with RFP Amendment #3 and provides answers to questions received by e-mail. The items herein continue the numbered list in Attachment 10, which was posted with Amendment #2.
The deadline for submitting new questions has passed. We will accept and answer future questions only if they have a profound impact on pricing or project execution, as opposed to minor clarifications of the specifications.
Drawing A2.1 detail 2 note 8 indicates Existing Windows and states that we are to “Rehab/Replace Glass and Glazing Putty as Needed”.
68) For pricing purposes, how many panes of glass should we include in our estimate for replacement?
NPS is not providing a quantity. Each contractor should base their firm fixed price based on their experience and personal evaluation of the building, either by walking around the publicly-accessible exterior or attending the walk-through.
69) What is the percentage of glazing putty to be replaced that you desire us to include in our bid?
NPS is not providing a quantity. Each contractor should base their firm fixed price based on their experience and personal evaluation of the building, either by walking around the publicly-accessible exterior or attending the walk-through.
70) This detail is of the North Elevation that should have not been receiving excessive sun and weathering. Can you confirm that we are to rehab/replace glass and glazing on this side of the building.
Rehabilitation/replacement of glass and glazing should occur on each side of the building (South, North and West) as necessary to meet the requirements of the contract.
71) Drawing M1.0 First Floor Plan, Gen Sheet Note 8 states that “Refrigerant Piping to be run from Outdoor Units through Exterior Wall Cavity and into Attic to Service Indoor Units”. We believe that either the piping will be run as surface mounted on the interior wall or if it is to be run inside the wall then the interior or exterior wall must be demolished to permit this work. Please clarify as the Architectural plans are silent on this area of possible demolition/reinstallation of finishes. It is noted also that Spec 22 07 19 requires the refrigerant piping to insulated.
Per Specification 02 41 01 Para D2 (Selective Demolition) - Items to be removed include interior wall sheathing which will open the walls for piping installation.
72) The finish schedules shows room 119 Firearms walls will be covered in “TILE”. No specification section has been provided stating the type, make, manufacturer of the “tile” to be installed. Is it porcelain, ceramic, carpet, acoustic, quarry tile? Please clarify.
Tile in Room 199 is existing and will remain.
